1/6/2021 You will reap what you sow

I have a son who really enjoys gardening.  Each year he goes out and plants tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, hot peppers, cucumbers, pumpkins, and a bunch of other stuff.  When he takes those seeds and shoves them down into that black dirt, he’s going to get back exactly what he planted.  If it’s a tomato seed, he’s going to get tomatoes; if it’s a pumpkin seed, he’s going to get pumpkins.  You reap back whatever you sow.

Gal 6:7, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

What exactly does it mean to mock God?

The dictionary says mock means to treat with contempt, or to defy, or to challenge someone.

Defy means to openly resist or refuse to obey.  Challenge needs to confront or defy boldly. You cannot defy the Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings without it coming back on your own head.

There’s an old saying here on the earth, “what goes around comes around.”  So much more of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

If you are in a state of defying Christ, it means you are openly resisting His will for you as taught in the holy scriptures.

Women have a purpose that God wants them to obey and to follow. Wives have a purpose that God wants them to obey and to follow.   Men have a purpose that God wants them to obey and to follow. Children have a purpose that God wants them to obey and to follow.

When you openly resist God’s will and purpose for you, you mock God and defy our Lord Jesus Christ.

Resisting His will and purpose for you is nothing more than a rebellion against Him.  For those people who think that’s a joke, it’s going to come right back on your own head. That is a promise from scripture.

What does it mean to refuse to obey?  Refuse means to show or to indicate that you are not willing to do something. It also means to fail to perform a requested action. In the holy scriptures Jesus teaches us that we are supposed to obey Him in all things.

John 14 21, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

Obey means to comply with the command, the direction, or the request of a person to whom is their authority.

I have taught for 20 years in my home that, when you are obedient to those who are your authority it shows that you love them.  In the home, the dad has supreme authority over his wife and children. If they are a Christian dad, I guarantee you they aren’t going to abuse that power that they have been given to them by Christ himself because they love and care about you.

I’ll ask you, what parent really enjoys when their children disobey them.  What parent really enjoys when you tell your children you can’t use the car this weekend, but they take it anyway and they run it into a tree. What husband rejoices in the fact that his wife won’t listen to him and completely disobeys him and Christ Jesus?

What do you think the result is going to be when you disobey?  Whenever you do something wrong to others you’re going to get it back somehow. Job taught the same thing.

Job 4:8 says, “Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.”

If you are going to go out there and do something that is against the will of God, it’s going to come right back to you.  Out of fear of God, this is why I’ve always taught my family to obey, obey, and obey.

1 Sam 15:23, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…” Pride has no desire to obey God.

Proverbs 16:5, “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.”

This verse is an example of what’s going to happen to those who reject God and His teachings.   They may hold hands together in a nice big circle but God will punish them all together too.

Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

Haughty means arrogantly superior.  I guarantee you, you don’t want to act that way towards the teachings of Jesus Christ, who ultimately is the authority over all of us. Whatever you plant is what’s going to come up out of the ground. If you sow disobedience to Christ in your heart or the hearts of others, then that’s what’s going to come up out of the ground of their hearts.

If you teach others to be disobedient to Jesus, you are going to reap what you sow. God is not mocked.

If you do wickedness and evil towards others, you’re going to get it back.

I’ve always tried to teach my children for 20 years that, if you do what’s right, eventually it is going to come back to you.  If you’re going to take the wrong path of hatred, evil, unforgiveness, unthankfulness, the same attributes which you have shown to other people, they are going to be returned to you.

If you are merciless then you will be treated as a merciless person.  If you are an unforgiving person, then you will be showed no forgiveness at the judgment of God.  God is not mocked.  You will be treated the same way as you have treated others while here upon the Earth.

One thing you never want to do is trifle with the teachings of Holy Scripture. If you’re professing to be a Christian and you openly reject and obstinately deny the teachings of Jesus in the Holy scriptures , I will forewarn you, be very careful on the ground on which you are treading. Beware, because your own soul hangs in the balance.

In love

Eric
