John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
I’m going to break down this verse. The word “way” used in this verse is “hodos” in Greek, which means “ a road; by implication a progress; journey”. If you are going down the road to a friend’s house, you are following a path. Your friend lives on a one access road. If you do not follow the road to your friends house, but instead go down a different road or path, you will not get there.
The word “truth” is defined as “that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality.” Jesus is the truth, everything He is true and factual. There is no falseness or guile in Christ. We need to be like Him and be honest and truthful with others. Ephesians 4:25, “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”
Jesus is the life. Life is “a way or manner of living.” We need to live as Jesus would. He loved others, He had compassion and forgiveness with others. We need to exemplify Jesus in our lives to the world.
Do you want to be in Heaven with God the Father? Then you need to believe on Jesus, you need to follow His lead and live the life that Christ lived, and that can be summed up quickly: love one another.
In Acts 4:12, when referring to Jesus, it says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Did you know that there are approx. 4,300 religions in the world? That is just crazy! Many of them believe in life after death, but the truth is that if they don’t accept Jesus as their Savior, the only eternal life they will receive will be found in the fires of hell. Eternal life in Heaven is only found in Jesus Christ, and it is only though Him that we can enter in.
In order for us to enter into heaven, we need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Don’t be ashamed to tell others that you believe in Jesus. He is the greatest person to ever walk this earth! If your state has a great football team, and you are a big fan, you would be extremely excited if they won the Super Bowl. We need to be a fan of Christ; He is our team. Be proud to call yourself a Christian, because it is He who defeated death and extends us eternal life with Him.
John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
It says that those who dont believe Jesus will not see life but instead they will receive God’s wrath. God is going to punish those who do not accept His Son. He is plentious in mercy and extends forgiveness freely, but those who refuse to admit their sin and come to Christ, and admit that Jesus is the Savior, those people God will punish and cast into Hell.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
It is not God’s will that people perish (2 Peter 3:9), but He wants all of us to repent and become free of sin. He is very longsuffering, but sadly there will be many who reject the free gift of forgiveness and when Judgement Day comes, they will be rejected at Heaven’s gates, and sent down to eternal damnation.
In summary, if you want to live forever in Heaven, confess Jesus with your mouth, repent of your sins, and continue to live each day for Him.
