Love one Another

Good morning and welcome in today. Today we’re going to take a look at the following scripture.

1 John 4:7-12

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

When you love somebody else it is an intense feeling of affection. We are not supposed to love this world or the things that are in it but we are supposed to love each other. We are supposed to love other people. Love is a profoundly tender passionate affection for somebody else. The Apostle teaches the church to love one another.

John 13:34 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

1 John 4:20 – If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

When we love one another it is ultimately shown through our actions.

1 John 3:18 – My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Luke 6:31 – And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

If you like being loved by others then show love to others.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God loves and cares for us deeply but we have to believe on His Son whom He sent. If you truly believe in Jesus with your heart and accept him as true and genuine and believe the things that He taught from the scriptures, love will ultimately result in a faithful heart.

Children will learn to love and to obey a parent. A wife will learn to love and obey her husband. If love is going to happen, it’s going to be surrounded by faith in Christ. The Apostle taught that you have to love in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Somebody who is beloved is a much loved person. They are someone who is dear to the heart. They are someone than you care greatly about.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

We learn what real love is by keeping the Commandments of Christ. It teaches us throughout the scriptures what real love Is.

There’s a form of love out in the world today. They claim to love each other but it’s not God’s love. In the days of Noah they were given in marriage but were consumed by the flood. That makes a person conclude that there are two forms of love in this world. There is the world’s concept of love, and then there is true love….christian love for Jesus.

There are many false religions in the world today who profess that they know God because they love others, but in that state of unbelief they don’t love God because they don’t love Christ who is God’s Son. It’s not real divine love. It’s not true, sincere and genuine. I just want to make sure you understand the difference. The Apostle teaches us what true love is.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Eternal life is only available through faith in Jesus Christ. God loves us so very much that he gave us His only begotten son as a way to inherit salvation through His grace someday. Those who don’t love Christ don’t love God the Father.

When something is manifested it becomes clear or obvious to the eye and the mind. Manifest means to display or show something by ones acts. It’s apparent to your senses. We can sense how much God cares for us because He sent Jesus as a payment for our sins and misdeeds.

John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Galatians 2:20 – I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Some people feel that they have never sinned, and that they have always loved God completely with their heart, souls and minds. If you feel like you have never done anything wrong ever against God, that is simply not true

1st John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

That verse teaches us that each of us are sinners and have all come short of the glory of God. It’s not that we ever loved God. We have all made our own mistakes and committed our own misdeeds. Christ is the atonement for our just as the Passover Lamb was in the Old Testament. Death passed over them. It’s not that any of us loved God at all, but he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Propitiation is the act of gaining the favor or goodwill of somebody or something.

A propitiation is an action meant to regain someone’s favor for something that you did wrong. A simple synonym is the word appease. It’s the act of atoning for someone else’s sin or wrongdoing.

1 Peter 2:24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

1 John 2:2 – And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.

Hebrews 9:12 – Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].

Again, it’s not that we loved God. If we truly loved God it would mean that we were perfect and had no faults and never had committed any sin against him. None of us pleased God. Gods Son Jesus Christ pleased Him completely and He sent Him into this world to atone for our mistakes. In order someday to inherit salvation someday, you have to come to him.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

1 John 4:19. We love him, because he first loved us.

1 Cor 13:13

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Pet 4:8

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

When a person is unforgiving with others it’s because of a lack of Charity inside their heart. I’ve seen it happen so many times when I was out in the world working at a school. You’d watch the children on the playground: and one of the children says I’m sorry I did that, but the other child says I’m not forgiving you or they say apology is not accepted.

When we apologize and we come to somebody else to say I’m sorry, you can’t undo the things of the past and that is where love enters in….when you forgive. Everybody in the church who goes to Christ Jesus if they have sinned during the week, and they confess their sins to him, what does he do?

If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. If you don’t forgive others when they are apologize, God is not going to be forgiving with you. Those kinds of things are going to be avenged.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

It’s not very difficult to see how a parent cares for a child and watch the life of that family together who love and serve Christ.

Remember the first commandment is to love and serve Christ the lord. It’s by serving Him that we can show God’s love to others.

I’ve taught many years that when we become a Christian we are like babies. Again, think of two children fighting on a playground somewhere. They are still children and have not grown into maturity yet. They haven’t learned how to get along and love each other.

In the church we are being converted and perfected by what He is doing inside of our hearts. If we make mistakes along the way we can come boldly to the throne of grace in time of need. That’s so that we can apologize and try to get it right the next time. Don’t ever forget that if you can’t forgive other people, love is what is lacking in your life. If you hurt somebody you should be capable of apologizing and forgiving with them.

Eph 4:33 and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Matt 6:15

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.

Confessing your faults means to admit that you are sorry that you did something. In it’s greatest form of simplicity, it is accepting that you are wrong and apologizing. Sorry Dad I drove your truck into the tree.

It’s is the admission of fault, where you blame yourself. It’s also being aware of those faults.

You cannot do anything to change the past but it can be completely forgiven and washed away and completely forgotten. That’s what Christ does for us and what he demands that you do for others.

Think about those things for today and Lord willing we’ll talk to you some more tomorrow. Till then, bye-bye everybody.
