Good morning and welcome in today. Today we’re going to take a look at a passage of scripture from Romans chapter 3 but before we do that I wanted to ask you a question.
Have you ever looked in a cooler or in the refrigerator at home trying to find a can of pop and finally realized that you were completely out? You can’t find a single can in the house because they were all drank up by everyone.
Have you ever decided that you were going to take some children to the park to play for the afternoon? You decided that they were all going to go and no one was going to be left behind.
Have you ever planted tomatoes in your garden and they were predicting that it was going to frost overnight and then you went out and picked all the tomatoes that you had planted?
The word all is used to refer to the whole quantity or extent of a particular group or thing. It represents the whole and entire number or quantity of something,…everyone or everything.
All the seniors this year are going to graduate and walk across the stage. The entire class passed and all will get their diplomas.
Rom 3:23-24
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Did you know that there’s not a good man on the Earth? It’s the truth.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 – For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Even the prophet Isaiah teaches that we are all sinners in his own writings.
Isaiah 64:6 – But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
There is nobody on the face of the Earth that can ever claim that they have never made a mistake or that they have never sinned. This is why everybody needs to come to Christ Jesus because all of us need forgiveness with God and He is the only pathway there. If you’re truly honest with yourself you know what I’m talking about. Because we’re all sinners none of us are better than the other. I’ve always said there’s only two classes of people on the Earth; sinners and forgiven sinners. That’s it.
Romans 3:9 – What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Like a huge ocean, all of us in this world are swimming in a sea of sin. What you have to decide is if you’re going to accept the life raft of forgiveness that God has sent to save us, His Son Jesus.
What was the entire point of the judaic Old Testament law? It was there to teach us that we are imperfect in the eyes of a perfect loving God. Eventually you were going to make a mistake and that is why God had it created. It was set forth to show us that we were sinful creatures who were going to need His help to make it to heaven. How many times have you heard people say that nobody is perfect?
Romans 3:19 – Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
1 John 1:8-10 – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
The Apostle Paul who God used greatly in the Christian church told the church that he was the chief of sinners. That was an Apostle! He understood that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. When you come up short it means to fail to reach a goal or standard.
Because all have sinned, each of us have failed to reach that same goal. This is why we need to get forgiven with God through Christ so that we can inherit eternal life someday. When we place our trust in Jesus to deliver us, we gain access to his grace. This is why True Believers of Christ have communion regularly so that we can wash any sins away in the blood of Jesus.
Romans 5:2 – By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Do you like getting free things? How many kids out there like getting free popcorn or candy from your dad when he brings it home from the store? The Bible teaches us that forgiveness is a completely free gift from God. You can’t do anything to earn it. You can’t pay for it and purchase it. Forgiveness through Christ is completely free.
Because we’re all sinners we all owe God a debt that we cannot possibly pay, so he offers to cancel the debt against us if we come to his son Jesus and get forgiven through Him. This is the essence of the Christian faith.
Many people don’t understand the meaning of Faith righteous. When God forgives you of all your sins at that very moment you are righteous in his sight because you have placed your faith in his Son. At that moment you are no longer a sinner in his presence because He has cleansed you completely. What a forgiving merciful God, ABBA Father.
Forgiveness with God is the greatest gift that you could ever attain in your life, and that is a gift that he extends to all of us.
Romans 5:16-19 – And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Ephesians 1:6-7 – To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Do you want to become acceptable in the eyes of God? You first have to accept the fact that you’re a sinner like the rest of us. You need to admit that to God, and apologize to Him for your misdeeds. Believe in His precious Son who gave His life so that we could have eternal life through His grace. Trust Him, because God delivers.
I think that’s where I’m going to stop for right now but Lord willing I’ll talk to you some more tomorrow. Till then, bye-bye everybody♥️
