Good morning and welcome in today. Today we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture from Romans chapter 5 but I do that, I wanted first to ask you a question.
Can you imagine laying down your own life for a wretched man? Someone who is despised and lost in his sinful condition. People don’t like to hang out with him, but that is what Jesus came to do, and preaches forgiveness and mercy to this lost world. Jesus died on the cross to trade His life for ours.
Rom 5:6-8
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
What an awesome passage isn’t it. It’s the gospel of Jesus. God sending His only begotten Son to die for sinners so we could be forgiven. It is the power of grace and eternal life.
Matt 9:1-8
And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
Jesus laid down His own life to rescue and forgive sinners. And the truth is, that of us all come short of the glory of God, but he still loves us and sends His son to save us. Praise God for His mercy.
Ephesians 2:1-5 – And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
There is so much hope in that amazing deed He did at Calvary.
Titus 3:3-5 – For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
So God traded his life so that we could have eternal life. It’s found in His blood of Holy Communion.
1 Pet 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Praise God every day for Blessed Mercies.
I think that’s where I’m going to stop for right now but Lord willing I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Till then bye-bye everybody.♥️
