Good morning and welcome in today. Today we are going to take a look at a passage of Scripture, but before we do that I wanted to ask you a question.
Many years ago we had grass that was in the middle of our road. It was kind of like an old farm road. Someone had told us that our road was an old logging road that someone had made as an access to our little lake that we live by.
An access point is a way for you to get somewhere. It’s very similar to the grace of God. Without God’s grace, we would be destined to a life without mercy. There is only one way to heaven and it’s through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:2 – By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
To access something means having the ability, opportunity, permission, or right to approach, communicate, enter, pass to and from, or view without interference or obstruction.
There is only one access point to God’s grace and forgiveness it is through his son Jesus Christ in the blood that He shed for us at the cross. Just as they placed blood on their door post to be saved from death while they were in Egypt, we are saved from death by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Exodus 12:12-14
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
In the New Testament Jesus Christ is our passover lamb that God sent to deliver us from our sins.
1 Cor 11:23-26
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
Each of us have an access point to Gods mercy, and it is found in Jesus Christ. It is our faith and trust in Him that salvation resides. It is a precious gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
In the old testament, everyone was under the law, but in the new testament we are under the law of forgiveness and mercy.
Romans 6:14 – For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What we couldn’t attain on our own, Jesus did for us.
Romans 11:6 – And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Remember that forgiveness and salvation is like our small back trail to the lake. It’s a narrow road, but Jesus is our access point to forgiveness with God.
Think on these things for now and Lord willing I will talk to you tommorrow. Till then, bye bye everyone.❤
