Good morning and welcome in today. Today we’re going to take a look at a passage of scripture from 1st Timothy Chapter 2.
1 Tim 2:11-14 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
Subjection is the state of being subject, or under the power, control, and government of another; and a state of obedience or submissiveness. When a woman decides to become a Christian, she needs to understand that one of her roles is to be in subjection to the men in the church. The Apostle wanted the women to be silent learners as they were taught by the men. Many times in a classroom setting, people want to talk and interject their own personal opinions but the women of the church were forbidden from speaking.
Verse 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Usurp means to seize and hold (office, place, functions, powers, etc.) in possession by force or without right. When a woman usurps a man she goes over his head. A woman doesn’t have those rights granted to her by God. The reason is because she was created as a helper for the man. Man is her authority and she must listen and learn quietly while being instructed. I realize that out in the world they teach completely anti-biblical doctrines. In the church we are relearning what God wants us to be. If you decide to become a Christian woman, you are supposed to completely submit to men. I’m not just speaking about a husband but all men in general. For example we all need to listen to the teachings of the Apostle Peter and Paul who preached God’s Word to the church. They are not a husband to certain women in the church, but they are men, chosen as preachers and Apostles of Christ. The church is a place that is filled with male leadership. I understand a lot of women can’t hear these words today but it’s like the scriptures teach,..
John 8:47 “He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”
Continuing at verse 13…
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
A woman is forbidden by Christ Jesus to take control over the man. God made Adam first, and Eve was created through Adam.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Our God is a God of order. You can see His order in the creations that He has made. For example, He made the sun to shine during the day and the moon for night-time. There’s a great difference between the two of them because they were made for different purposes and functions. Jezebel was involved in teaching, which is abhorrent to God.
Rev 2:20-22 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
These kinds of things are going on in many religious bodies today. Not only are they allowing them to preach and teach Sunday schools, but they are ordaining them. These activities are forbidden for women and those who do such things bring disgrace and shame upon themselves. All of the Apostles who were chosen by Christ, were men.
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
When someone decides to become a Christian, they have to understand that there are different roles that we have. There are different roles on a football team. You have a quarterback and wide receivers. There are different roles on a baseball team, such as a pitcher and a catcher. In the Christian church men and women have different roles and purposes.
1 Peter 3:5-6 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement
Remember, it is the man who is the image and glory of God. The Apostle Paul was a man, just as Moses and the Apostles.
1 Corinthians 11:7-10 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
1 Corinthians 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Silence is defined in the dictionary as a lack of sound or noise : quiet · a situation, state, or period of time in which people do not talk. The Christian woman is called by Christ to be under the authority of men. They need to do as they are told and instructed by men. I guarantee that this is vastly different from what you are going to see in the world today but there are millions of other conservative Christians who believe the very same thing I do.
When women presume to teach or lecture men they are stepping into the shoes of Jezebel, rather than becoming meek and submissive….
