Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a story.
How many of you have dealt with people at school who had serious behavior problems that they wouldn’t correct. Eventually after a few warnings the principal probably gave them detention for a few days. If they didn’t correct themselves, they eventually had to be expelled from school. If you have ever been expelled from school, and were professing to be a Christian, chances are that you should have been kicked out of the church for a season too. Christians are supposed to focus on becoming obedient children, not to be an example of rebellion to the world.
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
There are many women today who profess to be Christian, who need to be expelled from the church as well. They are completely disobedient and rebellious, filled up with their own arrogance and pride. The only man who is going to do this deed, is a true prophet of God. There are many things that go on each day out in the world, that are forbidden within the church. The world lives the way that the world does, but when we become a Christian, we are supposed to begin to live the way that God wants us to live. To do this, we must reject worldly philosophies and teachings, wholeheartedly accepting the doctrine of scripture. A lot of us were raised many years out in the world, learning and following its unbiblical concepts,…. but now we need to reject its lies for the Truth.
1 Timothy 2:11-14 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
There are two things that the Apostle Paul specifically identifies in this passage. First of all, the Apostle Paul did not allow women who were a part of the church, to teach in any capacity. Teaching is forbidden fruit for a woman. Nowadays, professing Christian bodies are overrun with these types of rebellious women. It would be incredibly naive and foolish to judge by appearances, thinking that these women are meek and obedient sheep. The truth is, that underneath all of their external appearances, their fancy makeup and religious attire, they are only a she-wolf at heart. It upsetted the Lord thousands of years ago, and it continues to upset Him today. Many people claim that the church has evolved, but the teachings of God are unchangeable. The place that they are sitting in is not the church found in scripture, it a false church of the world.
Revelation 2:20-21 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Notice that these wicked women call themselves a prophetess, but their disobedience to Christ shows otherwise. I could call myself a mechanic, but that certainly doesn’t make me one. People might profess to be followers of Jesus, but that doesn’t mean that they really are. The Apostle Paul had the church remove a fornicator from among them, yet people continue to suffer this disobedient woman within certain professing church bodies. If they are not going to repent, cast them out for the sake of Christ. Some people who profess to be followers of Christ, claim that they have the authority to usurp the Apostle Paul. That is about one of the most egotistical things that I’ve ever heard, and you hear it a lot from women. Here’s a man who was chosen by Jesus Christ, and wrote a good portion of scripture that we have today, yet people reject things that He taught.
1 Corinthians 14:34-37 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
Women are completely forbidden from teaching God’s Word in any capacity. Do they do this out in the world? Certainly, but it’s caused by their own arrogance and disobedience to Christ. Only men are capable of teaching others.
2 Timothy 2:1-2 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
There are many women in false religious bodies today, who are completely deceived, lying to both themselves and others. They are even leading young girls away from obedience to Christ. They really believe that it’s correct behavior to go over the top of a man, and usurp his authority over women. They do this all the time out in the world, but not within the true Church of Christ. Through some fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the simple. To usurp over men, is to take upon themselves the capacity to teach others. When a woman teaches anyone biblical truth, she is usurping over the responsibility of man. She does not have that place of authority granted to her by God. She may show others how to love through her loving deeds and actions, but is forbidden from teaching God’s Word in any manner. Man is made in God’s image, not a woman.
1 Corinthians 11:7-9 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Even when a woman divorces her husband, she displays an open example of usurping her husbands authority. She makes a mockery of the Christian life. She is supposed to obey him in everything, which is impossible to do if she departs and walks off on him. Just like what happened to Eve in the Garden of Eden, the devil is still trying to lead women astray, trying to get them to preach and teach God’s Word, in direct violation to God’s commands. The Apostle Paul did not put up with this kind of behavior in the church. If these women weren’t going to listen to their husband, if they weren’t going to listen to the men of the church such as the Apostle Paul, if these women were so puffed up with pride, refusing to show any attempt at repentance, than the appropriate thing to do, was to have them…….
……..Expelled
