When you are a child you pick up so much information from others, like a sponge soaks up water, the young mind just receives a constant watering as you continue to learn. As you grow older you will still continue to learn, but by the time you reach adulthood your set of views and beliefs will have begun to start to solidify. Because as children, we tend to believe mostly everything that is taught to us. Were you told as a child that Santa Claus was real? Then you probably held that belief for quite a while, until one day you realized that it was all a fable.
This is the same type of belief that many people hold today. They have been taught and instructed in the ways of the world for many years that this belief has become ingrained into them so deep that they don’t believe it when they hear something that goes completely against what they have believed for many years.
But in order to become a Christian, we need to realize that the philosophies and teachings of the world are not the teachings of Christ. We are born into this world in the flesh, but to be enter into the Kingdom of Heaven we need to be born of the Spirit. We need to be born again.
John 3:1-7 “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
In order to be born again, we need to relearn everything that we think we know. Our minds have been filled with too much information of the ways of the world, and we need to empty that all out, replacing it with the teachings of Christ. We need to become “as a little child” if we want to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Mark 10:13-15 “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
Have you noticed how receptive children are of new information? They may never have seen a picture of a duck-billed-web-footed-beaver-tailed animal before, but when they ask what kind of an animal it is and they are told that it is a platypus, they believe it. No arguing or “incredulity” (unwillingness or inability to believe; doubt about the truth or verisimilitude of something). Just complete belief.
This is the exact kind of belief that we as adults need to possess when we learn from the word of God. We need to be filled with a humble and meek spirit, ready and willing to learn, just like a little child. We need to become born again into the Spirit of Christ, and accept His word into our hearts. Unlike the world’s teachings and philosophies, the teachings of Christ are all the truth, and we need to believe in the Truth to get to Heaven.
So, just like a sponge, wring out your mind and rid yourself of everything that you think you know, and soak up the knowledge that is found in Christ. Become as a little child once again, and begin to learn anew. Become born again.
In Christ,
Andrew
(Andrew is no longer a part of this ministry, as he purposely lied, deceived me, and then betrayed me. These actions were done willfully and with intent. Liars are not in Christ, which is why Ananias and Sapphira died. Although many of these writings are helpful, he completely abandoned this calling, and joined up with the world instead. Nothing can dictate Our lives more than a love for Christ Jesus and being chosen to His service, but he chose to love the world instead.)
