Enough Grace To Go Around

Take a random group of people and study them for a bit. They all have their own different features, don’t they? Some will be very tall, others may be very short, and the others may be right in the middle of them. Some people may be heavier, and others may be lighter, some older while others may be younger. They may like different things in that children will usually like to do more “childish” things than an adult would, and an adult will probably like to be a bit more reserved.

People like to eat different things as well, and may require more or less food depending on their daily needs. A very young child for example may only eat things such as soft foods and milk while they are an infant, but as they grow they will require things a bit more solid. A baby just cannot eat a giant pork chop because they may not have enough teeth to chew it all up, but an adult sure could because they are able to.

Each person has their own set of needs, whatever they are, and it goes the same for how much grace a person may need from the Lord in order for them to become right with Him. For example, people may live for sixty or seventy years before they finally learn about the love that Jesus has for them, and by that time in their life they may have amassed an entire history book full of sins and mistakes. And then you may have someone who believes in the teachings of Christ as a young child, and may not have such a long list of sins in their past. Both are sinners, obviously, but one of them will require more of God’s grace and forgiveness than the other, which the Lord is ready and willing to give.

Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We don’t know too much about the lives of some of the other apostles of the Lord, such as Matthew or Peter and what they did up to the point when Jesus called on them to follow Him, but the apostle Paul was certainly one who received a great amount of God’s grace given to him. In certain chapters of the Bible it references the things that Paul had done in his past, how he was in strong opposition to the things of Christ, but when he became converted he completely changed. Some may look at someone like Paul and think that they are a “lost cause” because of their many past mistakes, but if the life of Paul has taught us anything we should realize that there is enough grace for everyone, no matter their past.

Ephesians 2:1-8  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

A lot of grace needed, or a little, God’s grace is there waiting for everyone, and they just need to make the decision to go and ask Him for it. There is always enough God’s grace to go around.

In Christ
