God’s Word Can’t Be Changed

The Bible teaches that just as the days in Noah’s time, the world will be filled with sin, and we can see this steadily increasing over the years. As we will read shortly from Paul, people will not endure sound doctrine, meaning that they will not want to obey the scriptures from the Bible. They will not want to hear that they have to change or repent, and because they do not want to accept the teachings of the Lord and the apostles in the Bible they will go out and try to find someone who will tell them what it is that they want to hear.

2 Timothy 4:1-4  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

And this is easily seen today, as for example, the Bible teaches that homosexuality is completely wrong and is a sin, but people who disagree with this will try to find anyone who will tell them differently, and they will continue searching until they eventually find someone who tells them that they can continue to live that way. There are many so called churches who fit this bill, who not only tell others that homosexuality is completely fine, but actually promote it by marrying them in the house of the Lord, as well as going so far that they are even ordaining homosexuals into places of authority in the church, further spreading this lie by preaching it to others. But this is found nowhere in the Bible that this type of lifestyle is acceptable to the Lord, but is in fact very much condemned as a sin.

So what do people do when they do not want to listen to a command from the Bible that tells them not to do something? They go out and find someone who tells them that they can. They “heap” up teachers who will tell them what they want to hear and who preach a fake version of the Scriptures so that they do not have to change. But you see, becoming a Christian requires change, and the willingness to admit that you have sinned and need a Savior. Not everyone is willing to do this, but it is required for salvation.

What a person needs to do is fully accept the Word of God as it is, the commands of the Lord. Anything and everything that the Bible teaches to either do or not do needs to be followed without deviation. There can be no bending, twisting, or changing of the Word of the Lord, it is our perfect guide to a pleasing life to the heavenly Father. Every scripture, inspired by the Spirit of God.

2 Timothy 3:14-17  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

God’s Word can’t be changed, and disobedience to the Lord will only lead to one outcome, eternal damnation. His Word is perfect and it is all that we need. Follow it completely, because when you do you can know that you will someday inherit eternal life.

In Christ
