Admit Your Sins

Have you ever noticed how when someone is about to do something that they don’t want anyone else to see they look around and check to see if anyone is looking, and if no one is then they do it? They know that what they are about to do is wrong, and they hide their actions where no one else can see them.

When someone does something illegal do they do it right in front of a police officer? Probably not because they know that if they do they will certainly be arrested. Instead they do it when they are alone, often when it is dark, where no one else can see. Their evil actions are hidden and secret, not open.

John 3:19-21  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

That is the nature of carnal man, to try to hide the wrongs that they do. Natural man does not want anyone to know about their sinful deeds, and they try to hide it, but a spiritual man will freely admit their mistakes and come forward to get forgiven for them.

Psalms 32:5  I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

When someone sins it should cause them to be filled with sorrow and a desire to repent. Someone with this kind of attitude will come forward and admit their sins to the Lord, because they know that they need forgiveness and they want it, for it is only through the remission of sins that comes from Jesus that we can receive salvation.

Luke 12:2  For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Everyone will be judged by the works that they have done, and by how they chose to live. The Bible is very clear that sin if it is left unrepented of will not go unpunished, and no matter how a person may try to hide, God sees everything, and He will pass judgment according to one’s works. It is not God’s will that people perish because of their sins, but if someone is going to refuse to admit that they are a sinner and try to hide them, those sins will all be brought to light when they are judged before the Lord. There is nothing that can be hidden from God.

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confess your sins to the Lord, and admit your wrongdoings. Turn away from the path of wickedness, and get forgiveness. Confession of sins is required if you want to be forgiven, so just admit it. Admit your sins.

In Christ
