If you saw a bunch of hundred dollar bills all lined up next to each other, where one of them was real, and all of the others were counterfeit, do you think that you would be able to determine the real ones from the fake?
When paper money is printed it will have several small markings or “tells” that can be used to authenticate the bills. From watermarks to special ink to embedded colored thread, these slight modifications set apart the real from the fake, yet to an untrained eye it might be difficult to tell the difference.
The Bible teaches us that in the last days there will be many people who will claim to be Christ. They might even perform many “wondrous” things in their attempt to deceive people into believing that they are actually Jesus, and those who are not aware will sadly be deceived.
Matthew 24:3-5 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Many people will be led astray by these deceivers, as they will fail to recognize the signs of those counterfeits, but through close, careful examination a Christian will be able to spot the Real from the fake.
There is only one Messiah, and it is Jesus Christ. There is none other. No one else can take His place and do what He has done, because Jesus is the only way to Heaven, and only through Him can salvation be attained.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
People may claim to be Jesus, they might try to get thousands upon thousands to begin to believe that they are the Christ, but the true Christians will not be deceived, because they know the scriptures. All of their smoke and mirrors, all of their crafty tricks will not be enough to fool us, because we know how to spot a counterfeit.
In Christ
Andrew
Andrew willfully lied to me on more than one occasion, and then purposely betrayed me a short while later. Although some of his writings are beneficial, he has nothing to do with this ministry any longer. I never could imagine doing something to him what he has done to me, but it only proves that he never really cared about me at all. Betrayal will normally come from those who you care about the most, and his actions are the proof of his betrayal of the Christian Life. Deceit such as this does not happen from somebody who claims to be in Christ, because they are the works of the devil.
