The Gift Available To All

Billions of people have lived on this Earth over the course of history. Men, women, and children of all different nationalities and social status, each one of them with their own job or purpose in life, but all of them fall under the same title of “sinner.” Every single one of them. No matter if someone was a king of a country four thousand years ago or a construction worker today, everyone really is the same because we are all sinners. Everyone has sinned.

Titus 3:3-7  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Because of sin, everyone dies. It is the simple fact that after the original sin in the garden of Eden people started to die, and everyone that has ever walked this Earth from that point has met that same fate. Death, because of their sins, and because the wages or “reward” for sinning is death and damnation, this is what everyone would ultimately be faced with after their time on Earth expired. Except that there was a way out of that punishment, and it became available when Jesus came to the Earth and died for the sins of the world.

Because of the love of Christ everyone has the opportunity to receive salvation. He extends His mercy and grace to everyone in His offer of forgiveness, giving us the chance to receive the eternal life that would have been otherwise denied us.

Romans 3:23-25  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Where once we would have inherited death for our sins, we may now inherit eternal life

Romans 8:16-17  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Eternal life is not a thing that can be earned. It cannot be bought. It is a gift that can only be given to you by Jesus. A gift that everyone can have for their very own, no matter who you are, or what you have done in your past. Forgiveness is a gift, and eternal life is a gift, available to all who come to the Lord seeking for it. You too can live forever in paradise, and it is all because of the love of Christ.

In Christ
