The Spiderweb

Good morning and welcome in everyone.  Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.

Sometimes on a cool wet morning, as I walk on a trail through the woods, I will occasionally come across a spider web. They are easy to see because they glisten in the morning sun.  I’ve always noticed that each string on their web is connected to another, just like people who are committing evil are connected to each other.  Many times people think that evil only happens in a local atmosphere, but the truth is it goes far beyond that. It stretches into the highest places of authority in this world. When you think about Justice, you must remember that every place of authority has been created by the Lord Jesus Christ and for Him. Just like legal entities on the earth create laws that are handed down to society, God created every place of Justice that is upon the Earth. But although God is perfectly righteous, there are many people who are unjust, who gain access to these places in order to subvert the pursuit of true justice. Their motives are led by many different reasons. They want to be important, or want to be in the news. They want to be famous, or to be rich. They want to do wicked activities, and cover them up through the use of government agencies.  Many people seek places of authority, not to help the disenfranchised, but to further the perversion of Justice. Like quiet little creepers on a spider web of evil, they surround themselves with like-minded people, using their positions to trap others as their prey. The apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree. They gain access to high places of authority, not for the purpose of doing what is morally right, but to protect and to aid the wicked.

This reminds me of the Christian Life.

Just like in the days of Jesus, many people appear like just men on the exterior, even wearing a three-piece suit or wearing a fancy badge on a string around their neck, but just below the surface, they are unholy and ungodly, using their positions to mask their sinful movements, and stirring up the vengeance of a just and Holy God. They are no different than the Pharisees of old, using the law to their own advantage. These people are worthy of damnation. Many of them seek authority simply because they want to gain access to others who are in high places of power. They want to acquire relationships with those who are rich and wealthy. It’s not to do justice for those who are hurting, even though they might occasionally claim to do so in a very public press release. They do it for money, and for political gain. They do it to advance their evil agendas. They do it to persecute their political opponents. In complete hypocrisy, they may even appear at a church gathering, but the truth is that they have sold their souls to the devil.  This is nothing new, because it’s been going on for 2,000 years, ever since they crucified the Son of God. I’ve heard people say that authority corrupts, but it is the wicked people of this world who corrupt places of authority, which were created by God.

Colossians 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Many people might not believe in God, but that doesn’t change the fact that He created all places of authority, and those who choose to step into these positions, will be held accountable to God’s justice. Sometimes people say that no one is above the law, but behind the scenes, many of the ones who claim this self-righteous statement don’t keep the law themselves, and only use places of authority to cause others to suffer. No one kept the law in the old Testament, and no one keeps the law perfectly today. From a dad in his home, to a king in a foreign land, every place of authority will have to bend the knee before Jesus Christ and account for the things that they have done while here upon the Earth. Although many people might not believe that, it doesn’t change the fact that it will come to pass. There will be weeping and wailing, as divine Justice is expedited upon their own heads. You cannot mock God and get away with it. Everyday God is watching. When people subvert the truth, God is watching. When they misuse places of authority, God is watching. When they cause His servants to suffer, God is watching. A Christian doesn’t have to rely on earthly Justice.  You don’t have to file expensive paperwork or hire expensive lawyers. The poor can cry out mightily to God, petitioning Him in our prayers, who will avenge and punish those who have wronged us. As the pharaoh quickly found out, God can punish with plagues, sickness, and even death. There are wicked judges all across this world today, who are not doing Justice. They have stepped upon the spider web of evil, joining with others hand in hand, to do wicked deeds and make immoral judgments. Jesus spoke of the same people in the book of Luke.

Luke 18:2-8  Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.  And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.  And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily…

Many people have no fear of God, who don’t believe that there will be consequences for their miscarriage of justice. I truly fear for them, because God’s punishment will come upon them quickly, like a whirlwind from which they will not escape. If they refuse to repent and do justice, they don’t have to fear an earthy courtroom. Their activities will fall into the hands of the living God, who will punish their wickedness, not only here upon the Earth, but on judgment day.

There are numerous places of authority in this world, from a dad over his own home or a King in a foreign land.  They might be a judge, a sheriff or even a governor, who are all sitting in places of authority that were created by Jesus Christ. Many of these positions are held by people who don’t believe in Jesus. Some of them are women who were created to serve and obey men. Women are forbidden to stand in judgment over men, and unless they turn from what they are doing, they will be damned without repentance. A woman was created by the grace of God as a helper of men. Any woman who stands in judgment over men, are usurping those who were created in God’s image. It will be like a private in the military usurping over a general. Some people don’t want to offend a judge in a courtroom, but these unjust judges are in contempt of God. Contempt of court in God’s courtroom doesn’t reap a monetary fine, it will reap the Lake of fire. These wicked judges will have to give account to God. They are a stain and a stench upon morality, and their wickedness has risen into the nostrils of God. They know who they are, and so does Jesus Christ. It’s always amazed me that many people who desire to be in control and wield authority, don’t believe that there is a God of authority who will hold them accountable for their behavior. Those kinds of wicked thoughts are completely outrageous. God will punish angels, and false prophets. What is it for Him to punish a judge or a leader of a country? I guarantee you it will happen, so repent before it’s too late.

Many times there will be highly publicized events of corruption within a local police department or a scandal in a sheriff’s office. Many times this is done to keep your eyes off the corruption and evil that goes on each and every day in the highest levels of government in this world. The attempt to cover it all up and surround themselves with others who assist them in their wicked activities. Scripture is clear of that God will expose all of their wicked deeds in a public manner. Everything that they attempted to hide, will be exposed.

Luke 12:2-5  For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Matthew 10:26  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

As much as they try to prevent the truth from coming out, God will expose it publicly and nationally. Their shame will come upon them like mud on a clean white shirt.

Luke 8:17. “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”

The Apostle Paul fought against these wicked abuses of power.

Ephesians 6:11-12  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

These high places of authority who misuse their places of power, make the attempt to cover up all their misdeeds, with a bandage of lies.  God shall rip it away, openly exposing the puss of their wickedness and they shall not escape the justice of God. It’s going to come out. He will punish them quickly along with all of those who have become a part of……
