Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
I have always heard since I was a very young child, that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Whenever you build a house or a garage, it will require a strong foundation, if it’s going to remain. It is no different than the foundation of our community, cities and our states. Children are the building block of the next generation, and this is why it is so important that they are raised in the truth of Holy Scripture. As adults, we have the responsibility to guide and lead them in the right direction, and set them on the path of Christ. God has created things with a specific purpose in mind, and women must understand that they were created by God as a helper of men.
1 Corinthians 11:3-9 ³ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. ⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. ⁸ For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. ⁹ Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
When we speak about headship, we speak about those who have control or authority over you. A child needs to submit to a teacher in a classroom. Young men need to submit to the leadership of their dad. Christianity is about submission to the will of our heavenly Father. Submission is what caused the Apostles to follow Christ and preach His Word. It is what caused Peter to feed the sheep of Jesus. But as men are to submit themselves to the will of God, women must do the same. All women, whether a wife, sister or daughter were created for the same purpose, as a helper for men. To faithfully serve the will of God, they must place themselves in subjection to men who have been created as their authority.
In a Christian home, a dad is like a general, ordained by God with the responsibility of exercising authority over his household as needed. His wife and children must be in complete subjection to him at all times. This is so he can guide them away from any troublesome entanglements in the future. But one of the leading problems in the world today is that the true soldiers of Jesus Christ are disappearing. Many men have allowed themselves to succumb to the world and its godless beliefs and activities. Instead of following Jesus and looking to Him for guidance, they follow women instead.
There is a big difference in the biblical role between men and women. In the military, there is a distinction between places of authority. A private does not make the decisions like a general does. Would you allow your five year old child to make life altering decisions in your own family? Hopefully not. Biblically speaking a child is subordinate to the rule of their dad. Even on a commercial airline, the pilot is the one who makes decisions concerning the welfare of their passengers. Likewise, all women are under the authority of men. Men are to be in command, and the women need to be in submission to them. Thirty years ago, before my wife and I were baptized into the Christian faith, she begged me to make every decision in our home. She explained that she was terrible at making decisions, and needed me to make them for her. There’s a difference between the functions of men and women. When my oldest daughter Faith was very young, she would walk around the house and tell everybody that she wanted a Jonah in her tummy. (Jonah is one of my younger sons.) Even at such a young age, her feminine qualities were present in her character. She had a great desire to be a homemaker and bear children. It nearly broke my heart to hear such cute, sweet and loving things come out of her mouth. Nowadays because of the influence of society around us, the role of women has changed a lot. Women want to get a job. They are tired of being home. They are sick of cooking or making beds. They don’t want to bake cookies anymore. They don’t want to vacuum. They don’t want to change diapers. They want to run their own business. They want their own vehicles, and abandon their children. Like a ship on an ocean that runs aground on the rocks, they completely ruin their faith and the purpose for which God created them in the first place.
In modern society, women have gained access to places of authority that were never intended, nor were granted to them by God in the first place. Although each of us are human, we serve many different functions. I think you’d agree with me that there is a difference between a janitor and a pilot. There is a difference between a mechanic and a chef. There’s a difference between a four-star general and a private in the military. There’s a difference between men and women, and the reason why each of us were created. I believe today, more than ever, that society needs a strong foundation of men to raise wholesome and decent children to further the cause of justice in the world. A God fearing society begins with a pure faith in Jesus Christ, which can eventually develop in our children. The more family values deteriorate, the more society will deteriorate along with it. History will teach you that immorality has destroyed many countries from within. A huge problem that has reared its head fairly recently is the roles of men and women in our communities. There are many men in our world today, who need to rise up and become true men of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Each day people claim that the ozone layer is disappearing, or the rainforests are being wiped from the face of the earth, but many times forget about the greatest depletion going on all across this planet. It is the disappearance of true, just men who stand upon the bedrock of our faith. Over the last few hundred years, a lot has changed in society. Women have taken on roles that were forbidden to them in the past. Many of them claim it’s progress, but the real truth is that they have been encouraged by the devil, and seduced and deceived just like Eve was in the garden of Eden. Each time women usurp over men, their actions destroy the hearts and minds of precious young girls. By their own disobedience they only further the cause of rebellion, and promote disobedience in the lives of these children. The end result will only result in the degradation of society.
Men were created to lead society, and women were created to serve and obey them. God is a God of order, and all places of authority have been created by Him and for Him. If women are truly going to do God’s will, they must learn to place themselves in subjection to men. Men were not created for women. Women were created as…
