Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
There are numerous examples in history of jet airliners that have been taken over during a flight. Everything is going peacefully, but then suddenly during the trip, a rogue element storms the cockpit, removes the pilot, and assumes command of the plane. They remove the Captain from his chair, and sit down in his seat, taking control of the plane’s direction and heading. It is the captain to whom this authority was given, so he could guide his vessel safely to its destination. But some of the passengers usurped his leadership, rising up against him and completely hijacked his plane.
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
Many women have done the same thing. They have left their own husband, and have even hijacked his children, completely denying his authority and God given rights. They don’t want to be under his headship or authority anymore, so instead, they assume command over both him and his household. Christians are not supposed to resist evil, nor can we go to court in such matters, especially against a wife who does such things. It is forbidden for a woman who claims to be a Christian to participate in such behavior. Those who do are involved with the wicked works of the devil. No earthly courtroom will be able to absolve her of God’s impending judgment upon her disobedient actions. Just as temporal authorities diligently pursue justice against hijackers, wives who hijack a man’s family will not escape the judgment of God. God is the everlasting department of Justice, who’s due process will last far beyond our short time here upon the Earth. Impenitent wives who do such things, along with those who aid her, will most certainly face the swift wrath of God, and His eternal contempt.
1 Timothy 2:11-13 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Earthly laws permit things that God’s law completely forbids. Women are allowed to do things according to certain statues, but are in complete violation of God’s law. Any woman who professes to be a Christian is under the authority of men in this world. They are required to submit and obey them, whether it’s their husband or other male leadership in their life. They have always said that it is a man’s world. Women were created to be helpers of men. When we speak of a marriage, the husband is the authority over the wife. To obey the authority of Christ, she must submit to her spouse in everything. When she goes against this command, she usurps both him and the will of God. Any woman who is not married must also submit to male leadership, because it was man who was created in God’s image. Man was not created for women, but the women for the man. Men, in general, are males collectively, it doesn’t matter if they are a boy, a teenager or a grown adult. When Eve gave birth, she referred to her newborn child as a man.
Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Sometimes, families have older girls who take responsibility and authority over the boys who are younger than them. This happens because there is no Spiritual male leadership within their home. True men of God would forbid this, as it was for thousands of years, because it is disorderly. Another point is that age has nothing to do with authority. Timothy was much younger than the older men in the church, but he was charged with the responsibility of commanding God’s flock. Young David killed Goliath, the enemy of God’s army. Many kings from foreign countries have been born into a place of authority. They might not have wanted it or even desired it, but it is the position that God has placed them in. Like a king, all men on this Earth have been born into a place of authority over women. A man’s home is his castle, and men are charged with the responsibility of leading both their household and society on the path of Christ. Like a prince, young boys need to grow up with the understanding of the great responsibility that God has placed upon them. They must learn to wield authority as gentlemen. Just like the 1980 film, Little Lord Fauntleroy, they need to learn to be commanding, yet be merciful in their leadership. Sisters need to submit to their brothers. Women need to submit to men. Wives need to submit to their husbands. These things are done out of love for the one who died on the cross for our sins. Women who take authority over men, or usurp his leadership in the home are a disgrace to both God and society. In the church, women are never to be allowed to usurp men, and it needs to be nipped in the bud immediately. Paul did not suffer this behavior to go on in the church, and neither will any man of God. When Peter usurped the Lord, Jesus rebuked him.
Mark 8:32-33 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
Many times Earthly laws do not reflect the truth of God’s will. They will pursue the rights of everybody else, to the complete exclusion of the God-given rights of men. There are so many places of authority in this world, which have been created by the Lord Jesus Christ, that could use their divine offices to pursue the cause of biblical justice. This world and everything in it, will eventually be dissolved and burned up. This includes the entire plethora of earthly law. At that point, the only thing that will remain will be the eternal teachings and commands of Christ. Everyone will be judged according to His Word on that great day of reckoning. Every knee shall bow before Him, as I think upon the words of Moses, I exceedingly fear and quake.
How would a courtroom judge feel if a defendant decided to take over his courtroom? How would a teacher feel if a student decided to take over their classroom? It is no different than when a woman usurps over the authority of men in this world, whether they are married or not. The biblical roles of men and women continue to deteriorate in this world, and will steadily get worse because when there are no soldiers of God available, then the truth of the Christian faith cannot be defended.
Remember that shortly before the return of Jesus, the devil will usurp over everything that is called God. Women who go over the authority of men in this world are involved in the devil’s work. It is disorderly, and forbidden for those who profess to be followers of Christ. They are assuming authority that has not been granted to them by God, and are no different than another group of……
…….Hijackers
