“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7
Have you ever been eating a hotdog with ketchup and mustard, carefully trying to keep from getting those condiments on your clean shirt, but no matter how careful you tried to be you always got at least a little bit on you? I’ve done this many times, gotten down to the last part of my hotdog when all of a sudden a blob of ketchup seemed to be almost magnetically attracted to my shirt! In that moment my shirt became stained, no longer clean.
Well what do we do with a stained shirt? We put it into the wash, maybe adding soap or bleach, with the intention of returning that stained shirt back to it’s once clean state.
And that is what made me think of our scripture today. When each one of us is born, we have inherited sin, and are “sinners.” As the days, months, and years go by and we slowly grow older, slowly those sins can begin to pile up, and “stain” us. Instead of being perfectly white and pure, we are slowly being stained with sin, and it is not pretty. We need to get those stains removed, and the absolute only way to do that is through Jesus.
Only Jesus can remove the stain of sin. All of those sins have become stuck to us, and we need to be cleansed.
Colossians 1:12-14 “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
“In whom we have redemption through his blood.” That is how we can become purified. That is how we can become cleansed, through the blood of Christ.
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
Through the partaking of Holy Communion, Jesus washes our sins away with His blood. Heaven is a perfect, pure place without the filth of sin. We need the whitening power of Jesus to take those stains away. He truly is our spiritual cleaner.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18
Go to Christ, and get those stains washed away!
In Christ,

Although many of these writings are helpful, he completely abandoned this calling, and joined up with the world instead. Nothing can dictate Our lives more than a love for Christ Jesus and being chosen to His service, but he chose to love the world instead.)
