No Changes

Good morning and welcome in everyone.  Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture from The book of Psalms, but first of all,….

Some people actually believe that God does not punish or inflict people here upon the Earth, but those who think such things are out of their minds. God has not changed since the days of Moses when He punished and plagued the people of Egypt. It all happened because of Pharaoh’s hard and impenitent heart. God is the same yesterday today and forever and will punish sin now and eternally. God has not had a mood swing because He hates evil. But through Christ Jesus, we can find a place of forgiveness with God. To those who turn away from their life of sin and follow the teachings of Jesus, we have the promise of eventually obtaining eternal life. On the other hand, those who absolutely refuse to do this will be punished by God, both now and forever.

“God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.” Psalms 55:19

People wonder why bad things happen here upon the Earth, but nothing happens without God’s intervention. He will punish the wicked right up to the day of judgment. As I’ve said many times before, He can and will plague people with sickness, pestilence, and death. Miriam spoke against Moses and the Lord was so upset that he filled her with leprosy. He destroyed the wicked in the days of Noah, as He did in Sodom and Gomorrah. Their time was up, and God burned that city to the ground. These are examples of what God does to those who refuse to change their evil ways. His punishments continue today to all those who mock the power and authority of our precious Lord Jesus.

Jude 1  ⁴ For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁵ I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. ⁶ And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

We live in some wicked times, because many people don’t have any fear of God at all. Pharaoh was the exact same way, and look what happened to him. Jezebel refused to repent and her flesh was torn apart and eaten by dogs. There was no one even to bury her. The same women are in modern day churches today, usurping over men, and disobedient to their husbands. They are so arrogant that God is going to punish them. He will afflict them and cause them to suffer, even today, because they have no changes.

Revelation 2 ²⁰ Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. ²¹ And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. ²² Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

This world is being swarmed with false prophets, a lot of them who profess to be Christian who worship women rather than Christ Jesus. They are leading the people of God right into the ditch.

“As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”  Isaiah 3:12

Over the years, many people have been addicted to drugs, involved in theft and even prostitution who have completely turned away from those lifestyles out of obedience to Christ Jesus. That is certainly praiseworthy, but many people in today’s false churches continue to abide in their sins and still profess to be a follower of Christ. This was even going on during the time of the Apostle Paul. He wanted fornicators removed from the Corinthian church, but nowadays they fellowship with them. False prophets are even ordaining homosexuals and doing nothing about the fornication that is going on amongst them. The reason why is because these are not true Churches of Christ, but the synagogue of Satan, led by wolves in sheep’s clothing. God will inflict them for their great wickedness. Just watch as it happens, and you will see the justice of God as it comes quickly on those who don’t fear Him.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”  2 Peter 2:1

Today, many people don’t fear God enough to change the way that they are living their life, and I guarantee you that it will continue to get worse and worse as this world heads into a period of Great tribulation. Even then, many of them will be so hard-hearted that they will refuse to repent. Genuine repentance is about reconciling with the truth of scripture, turning away from your sinful living, and learning to go and sin no more. It is about being reconciled to others in the church that you have wronged. Impenitence is the refusal to correct what you’re doing, so that you come into compliance with the will of God. Some people want to believe that they will be in heaven, but have taken no steps to correct their behavior. Jesus told the Apostle Paul to turn people from darkness to light so that they could receive forgiveness for sins. If people never turn away from their sins, they won’t be in heaven, whether they are a baptized Christian or not.

Luke 13 ²⁴ Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

²⁵ When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: ²⁶ Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

²⁷ But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

In the last 2,000 years it seems like everything has gone full circle. Jesus rebuked certain Jews because they appeared religious on the exterior but were still enslaved to sin. John the Baptist warned them that if they weren’t going to change and bring forth good fruit, they would be cut down and cast Into the fire. Now these same types of people are sitting in modern day churches today. They are living openly in their sins and unless they repent they too will perish.

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”  2 Timothy 2:19

God cares for us, and wants us to come to a place of repentance, but the hard-hearted refusal to repent will result in His punishments. God has already proved His love for us, even by sending His only begotten Son Jesus to save us. God will bless those who serve Him out of love, but those who don’t will be cursed. Those who are going to mock His lovingkindness by rebelling against Him will be punished. He will inflict them, plague them, and cause them to suffer, which is the just reward for all those who hate our kind and merciful God.

Punishment for disobedience is a normal thing in this world. When a child continues to misbehave in a classroom, what do you think is going to happen? They get sent to the office or to detention. What happens when a brother won’t stop hitting his sister? If he continues doing it, he’s going to be punished by his dad. But then people think that they can openly rebel against the Father of Spirits and He’s not going to punish them for what they are doing? That is CRAZY. People like these had better tighten their seatbelts, because He will inflict them fast and furious because they have forgotten about God.

“Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” Psalms 50:22

The simplicity of the Gospel is to repent or perish. Those who adamantly refuse to do this, abide in His wrath. God is perfectly just, and His justice will prevail.  I guarantee you that He will inflict, plague, and punish all.of those, who choose to live in sin, and exhibit….
