Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today we are going to take a look at a passage of Scripture, but before we do that I wanted to tell you a little story.
When I was in elementary school, many times we got to go outside for gym class. We would play hopscotch, King of the Hill, or kickball and trench. But sometimes we had to stay inside, and on those occasions, we would play a special game in the classroom. It was called the telephone game. All of us would push our desks into the corner of the room, and then put our chairs in a giant circle. The first student would begin the game by whispering a secret message into the ear of the next player. They in turn, would whisper it to the next player and so on, until it went all the way around the room. Finally, the last student would reveal the message to the class, and then it was compared with the first message. Most of the time it wasn’t even close to what had been originally said in the beginning.
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
The message of the Gospel has been handed down for thousands of years, but along the way, many people have altered and changed it. The true meaning of what was originally taught has become distorted and perverted by false prophets. These men are so wicked that rather than submit themselves to the will of God, they change the word of God instead. Let me bring you into remembrance that there is only one gospel which was handed down to the original Apostles of Jesus Christ. We must contend for that one true faith, one that has not become corrupted by false Christianity, and torn into pieces by ravenous wolves.
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 1:3
The word “once”, is defined as “ one time and no more.” Although many people claim to have their own new and improved version of Christianity, there is only one true faith, which is contained in the original writings of the Apostles of the Lord. Many people have gotten so far away from scripture that when you tell them the truth, it is evil spoken of! Rather than repenting of their sins like the rest of us, some people feel that they can change the Bible so they don’t have to. Why do you think there is so much corruption and wickedness in the world today? A lot of it is run by people who profess to be Christian, but live lives of complete immorality, rebellion and lasciviousness. They profess Jesus with one side of their mouth, and then live as the heathen do, conspiring evil deeds in secret. But they cannot hide from God, as He sees all of their religious hypocrisy. Watch and see what He does to them, because just like Pharaoh, He can throw their lives into complete chaos, whisking them from off the face of the Earth, just like shooing a nasty fly from the kitchen table.
“Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.” Luke 3:17
The Christian life is about a complete transformation through the acceptance and submission to scriptural truth, but rather than repenting of their deeds, many people are presenting a false gospel to the world instead. It’s not the original message of repentance from dead works, but a candy-coated fluff of philosophical mumble jumble. No wonder why the world receives them, because they are of the world, and the world heareth them. The worldly slop that spews from their mouths is worse than the manure that I shovel out of my chicken shed. They preach lies and the world loves them for it, just as the scriptures foretold.
1 Timothy 4 ¹ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
These people change the truth of scripture into a lie, because of which they are cursed.
Galatians 1 ⁶ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: ⁷ Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
⁹ As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Why is there so much fornication and sexual wickedness going on among those who profess to be Christian? Why is there so much sexual confusion going on in society? It’s because they are rejecting the original teachings of Christ Jesus, and the wickedness of their works bear witness of their rebellion against God.
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” Titus 1:16
They profess to be servants of Christ, but they are the servants of corruption, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness.
2 Peter 2 ¹⁷ These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. ¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. ¹⁹ While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4
Women are absolutely forbidden from teaching in any capacity, but in these latter days they have been ordaining them and even putting out their own false versions of scripture. God was very upset that Adam hearkened to a woman, but now many men consider them an equal, rather than keeping them in subjection as taught in the gospel of Christ. This is completely disorderly, but actually encouraged in churches that have the devil at their helm.
“As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” Isaiah 3:12
Times sure are changing aren’t they, and it’s going to get a whole lot worse. Sinful behavior that was condemned 100 years ago is being welcomed with open arms today. This is because people are turning their ears away from the truth, and listening to false prophets instead. Make sure that you are not deceived with them, because with all the perverted and false gospels in the world today, the true message can be lost, just like when we used to play….
