Lift Up Your Thanks Unto The Lord!

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

What do you say when you are given a gift? Usually it is, “thank you!” When you say those two words you show your love and appreciation to the giver. You are happy and glad for the other person’s actions towards you.

Well each and every person who has ever lived on this earth has had a gift presented to them, and it is the gift of forgiveness that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Everyone has this gift available to be taken if they choose to accept it, and if they do they should always remember those two words. Thank you.

“IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH:” Psalm 92:1

Forgiveness is a gift that we have done nothing to earn, merit, or deserve. It is free from Jesus so that we may have our sins taken away and so that we may one day receive eternal life. That is why Jesus died, to give us the opportunity to have eternal life and live in heaven one day with Him and the Father.

John 3:15-17  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

If it wasn’t for Jesus, none of us would be saved. Not one. It is because of what He did that we can be saved, and it is only through Him. We need to remember this every day and in our prayers thank Him for His amazing mercy and grace towards us sinners.

But as the apostle Paul taught there will be some in the last days who will be unthankful. They will not give thanks to the Lord for His free gifts, but will choose to reject the gift of grace and forgiveness. These people are only going to hurt themselves by doing this. They are refusing the gift of everlasting life. Don’t be like these people. Give thanks unto the Lord continuously, praising His holy name.

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” Hebrews 13:15

Our Lord is great, and greatly to be praised. Give thanks unto the Lord! His mercy is amazing and great towards us sinners. Lift up your thanks everyday to the Lord for it is He Who is our salvation!
