Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture from The book of Ezekiel.
I know that many people are not going to understand this given the times that we live in today, but for those who would, this is biblical truth.
Earthly judges and courtrooms are places of justice that were ordained by Jesus. They were created by Him and for His purposes. When people get married they are bound together by the law, which is why they get a marriage certificate. After that, they can participate in sexual relationships with each other and perhaps be fortunate enough to bring little children into this world. But the closer that we get to the return of the Lord Jesus, the further away people will slide into the quicksand of immorality. It was only a couple hundred years ago that divorce was considered absolutely immoral, but nowadays, it has become common practice and accepted as the “norm”. There is nothing normal about divorce. It can ruin the life of a spouse and the innocence of precious young children who had nothing to do with it at all. Although divorce happens quite regularly in the world today, it is absolutely forbidden to anyone who names the name of Christ Jesus. Divorce is not an option for anyone who claims to follow Christ Jesus, as one’s own salvation is based upon submission to the will of God. Divorce is not the will of God, and makes a complete mockery of the permanent union that has been created by Jesus. Any woman who has been baptized into the faith, and claims to serve Him, is absolutely forbidden from breaking wedlock. Any woman who chooses to break wedlock is going to be punished with God’s fury.
“And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.” Ezekiel 16:38
For over 20 years I’ve taught that divorce is a complete rejection of divine love, compassion, mercy, and most of all, obedience towards the Lord Christ Jesus. Remember that eternal life can only be obtained through repentance and complete obedience to the will of Christ. With that in mind, whatever behavior your spouse exhibits does not release you from your obedience to the commands of Christ in any manner. When a wife leaves or even divorces her husband, she usurps Christ, which is an attribute of the devil. She not only usurps the authority of her husband, but she also usurps the creator of Heaven and Earth, (who she claims to follow). I wouldn’t swap lives with someone like that, no matter if you gave me all the riches of the world, because there is no fear of God before their eyes.
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26
In the military, if you were to usurp those who are above you, most often it will be punished. Let me make this absolutely clear to every one of you listening today. God will punish generals, judges, high religious leaders, kings, and leaders in high places of authority. Without repentance and lovingly submitting themselves to the will of Christ Jesus, they will be cast into a lake of eternal fire and torment with others. Does a wife somehow think that she is exempt from the same type of punishment? What arrogance! But this is the world that we live in today, where women who profess to be followers of Christ are filled up with the haughty Spirit of Jezebel. Arrogant women who don’t think that the teachings of scripture apply to them. I can understand when women in the world get involved with divorce because they are ignorant unbelievers, but for those who profess to be followers of Christ, they are in a completely different territory. Women who profess to be Christian involved with this type of behavior are like a pig returning to the mud, and complete reprobates according to the faith.
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” Titus 1:16
Divorce is a willful act of rebellion against the Divine institution of marriage. Many people in Earthly Courtrooms will point the fingers at others and say that they are such a bad person, but if they have divorced their spouse and profess Christianity, they are exactly the same as them. If they don’t fear God enough to abide in their marriage, then they will be punished by God for their rebellion. Earthly courtrooms can only punish you for the short time that we have on this Earth, but God will punish the disobedient forever, and they will reap the reward for their own self-righteous hypocrisy.
James 2 ¹¹ For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. ¹² So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. ¹³ For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matthew 25:41
Neither husband or wife is authorized in the New Testament to put away their spouse. What I mean by that, is many people will go to Judaic law claiming that their spouse committed fornication or other sins against them, but Christians are not under Judaic law. Let me say that again. Christians are not under Judaic law and cannot be justified by it. Everything before the Cross of Christ has been abolished. You cannot justify divorce simply because your spouse did something wrong. To condemn them in such a manner is to condemn oneself. What matters now, is abiding in your marriage through thick and thin. Some of the most excruciating and painful things that you will have to suffer through will come from your own spouse, or in-laws who are the spawn of the devil.
When it happens, you must remember Jesus who suffered on the cross for us all. Marriage will not always be a piece of cake, and you will suffer in the flesh at one time or the other.
“But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.” 1 Corinthians 7:28
In the New Testament, divorce is forbidden. The honeymoon might last for a few years, but you had better get ready for the tough times. We must prepare ourselves for any suffering that we will have to endure out of faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ. Divorce is the easy way out, and the footpath of cowards.
Mark 10 ² And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. ³ And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
⁴ And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. ⁵ And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
⁶ But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
⁷ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; ⁸ And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. ⁹ What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. ¹⁰ And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. ¹¹ And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
I would never divorce a wife, because it would be an abandonment of the teachings of Christ. If she decides to leave you, or even divorce you, the sin abides on her and you are free from the boundary of conscience in the sight of God.
1 Corinthians 7 ¹⁰ And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
¹¹ But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
Any women who have been baptized into the Christian faith and choose to leave their spouse or to even divorce him for any reason, are the children of Satan. Those who mock me and what I say will certainly perish. God shall strike them down in His wrath, and punish the impenitent. The New Testament is about love and commitment to God. Those who encourage a woman to leave or divorce their husband are children of the devil and are tares among the wheat. Leaving a husband will incur God’s wrath, and to say anything else would be a lie. She must repent and be reconciled with her husband, otherwise she will perish in her sins. Her short-lived rebellion against the will of God, will be cut short, along with all the women who profess Christianity who are involved with…..
