Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that I wanted to tell you a little story.
Mariolitry has been defined as the veneration of the Virgin Mary in forms that should be ascribed to God. In 431 AD when Catholicism started calling her the mother of God and praying to her, their group went completely off the rails. Anybody who is Spiritual would understand that this is wrong. Jesus has always been with the heavenly Father, whereas Mary was not. She needed to be saved through faith in Christ and repent of her sins, just like the rest of us. The Lord Jesus explained this publicly in a statement about her.
Mark 3:32-35 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
Jesus explained that in order to be a part of the family of God, she needed to do the will of God. One of the first examples of Mary worship is found in the following passage.
Luke 11:27-28 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Mary is not God, neither is she the mother of God. She was the mother of Jesus according to the flesh. She was a vessel through which the Lord Jesus was born as a man, so God’s only begotten Son could die as a sacrifice for our sins. The Lord Jesus has always been with the Heavenly Father, Mary was not. Jesus has never sinned, but Mary was a sinner just like everybody else. For many years, people in Catholicism have prayed to her and the Saints which is completely outside the teachings of the New Testament.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Remember that God is a God of order, and it is man who was created in the image of God. Women were created to be subservient to the man.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
For a man to pray to a woman is both disorderly and complete confusion. When they do this, they allow a woman to usurp Christ in their hearts, which is happening in most forms of false Christianity today. This is why they are following rebellious women preachers and teachers, rather than a man of God. Jesus taught His disciples to pray to God, but Catholicism teaches to pray to Mary. Women have taken on the attributes of men, and men have become effeminate. Catholicism teaches people to pray to the Saints, and I can’t imagine what the original Apostles would have said if people were doing that in a church somewhere.
The practice of praying the rosary began back in about the third or fourth century, something that is nowhere to be found in the teachings of scripture. Prayer beads are used in Catholicism and other false religions to count their prayers over and over again. It’s claimed that this practice actually came out of Hinduism, and was adopted by other religions, including Catholicism. The combining of other false religious practices with Christianity is not only heresy, but it’s blasphemous towards our precious Lord Jesus Christ, but this is what happens when people reject the teachings of the New Testament. The simplicity of the Gospel is not enough for them, so they wander off and adopt all kinds of other philosophies and false teachings in the world. Some people attempt to convert to the Christian Life, but then they bring half of their false religion in the church with them when they come. These are many of the false prophets that are running these places today. They claim that it’s Christianity, but all it is is religion wrapped up in a different package. Why are there so many heresies and false teachings going on? Why are so many people going to perish? Because they completely reject scriptural knowledge.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee………
I’ve read in certain places that some very religious people think that by repeating the rosary a hundred times a day, that somehow that makes them holy, which is utterly foolish. In fact, Jesus commanded His Apostles not be involved with repetitive prayer.
Matthew 6:7-8 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Jesus is the mediator between God and Men, but remember that He also commands repentance and reconciliation with others in the church whom you have wronged. Some people are so filled up with pride, that they will refuse to do this, and go join some other Church somewhere. That is also heresy and completely against the will of God. It’s commanded to confess your faults one to another, something that a lot of Protestant churches have completely rejected. If you cannot confess your faults to a man of God, or especially to the person that you have wronged, you are outside the teachings of the Christian faith. Just like 2000 years ago, Catholicism has been overrun by people who, rather than teaching Divine scripture, have become steeped in the traditions of men.
Mark 7:7-8 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Many of these places are preaching all other kinds of books rather than teaching God’s Holy Word
2 Timothy 4:1-4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
For many years, false prophets have been ordaining women to teach God’s Word, and it’s no wonder why they are praying to Mary. From idols of her in front of their buildings, to huge statues in foreign lands, it is an open display of false doctrine. For those who want eternal life, they had better cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ, and make sure that they keep their distance from all those who are involved with,……..
