He Who Pays the Piper

Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that I wanted to tell you a little story.

There’s an old saying that has been around for many years, that he who pays the piper dictates the tune, which simply means that he who provides money for something has the power to dictate and control what is done or happens. After all, people in business who contribute a lot of their finances to certain endeavors will most often have a huge say in what events transpire inside the company. Many false prophets and huge forms of false Christianity operate on the same mentality. Just like any business, they want to keep money flowing into the offering plates and will do or say whatever they have to in order to ensure that this happens. So they will refuse to touch on matters that are going to ruffle the feathers of their members, or would cause them to get up and leave. After all, if one of the members is extremely rich, false prophets will refuse to correct their openly sinful behavior because if they did, he and his wealthy friends would walk out the door.

This reminds me of the Christian Life.

Do you ever wonder why men of God such as John the Baptist lived in such poverty? Do you ever wonder why Moses walked away from all the treasures of Egypt? Do you ever wonder why men of God had to live in rags and dwelt in caves of the Earth? This is because wicked people are not going to financially support those who find fault with their lifestyles. This is because they love their sin more than the truth. False prophets are people pleasers who will say exactly what the crowd wants to hear in order to get what they want from them. In some respects they are like a musician, who gets more money when they perform the music that people want to hear. On the other hand, men of God do not take special requests, nor do they pipe another tune. They are not it for the money, and rather than pleasing the crowd, they will preach the things that God wants the people to hear. If teaching the scriptures is influenced by anything other than a sincere love for God and His Word, then that person becomes unworthy of God’s Kingdom.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJB) But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

These are very wicked days that we are passing through because many false prophets who claim to be Christian have risen up and led people astray from the one true faith. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing, and are very easy to identify because they have women teaching the Bible which is forbidden. They are openly involved with fornication and living with each other outside of the bond of marriage, and even participating in same-sex relationships. This kind of stuff was forbidden less than 150 years ago, and it only goes to show you how far humanity continues to slide into the ditch. This was bound to happen eventually because it has been prophesied many times throughout the scriptures. Take my word, it will get worse and worse because this world is unrecoverable now. Like a plane that loses all of its power and must ditch into the sea, this world and everything in it is going to be destroyed by God. People must fear God and put on a parachute of repentance before it’s too late.

Because of the great publicity of the internet, the gatherings of false Christianity are well documented, and look no different than something inside of a metropolitan sports bar. What they have done is taken the things of this world and combined them with the Sacred which is blasphemy. Women are not dressed modestly at all, without any type of head coverings while they are praying. Even men preach with their heads covered and in the process, dishonor Christ, yet even in the military, they used to have you remove their top at a religious service or talked about God. As I have said for 25 years, this is why there are no conservative people in their groups, because they all left. The only ones remaining are those who are puffed up with pride, rebellious in heart, and never truly gave up the world for God. They are shameless, and more than likely a lot of them completely rebelled against a true man of God sometime during their lives. Prayer is supposed to be a very private matter, something that is done in one’s closet or in a private gathering, but nowadays they pray wildly on the internet, and in complete disobedience to the commands of Christ Jesus. They go through so many contortions that it looks like they’re going to slip a disc. They are so arrogant that they are not going to repent of what they are doing anyway, proving their disobedience to the gospel and their great love to be seen by the cameras! There is pride all over in this world, but religious pride is the worst of all, because people claim to be of God, or even a child of God, but completely resist the will of God. Their attitude is no different than some of the people that Jesus rebuked, the only difference is that now they profess to be Christian.

Matthew 11:23 (KJB)  And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell:……

There are many unbelievers who are involved with sinful activity, and I can understand that because they haven’t come to Christ Jesus and gotten forgiven for their past sins. But I have noticed over the years that the ones who get extremely offended the most, are those who profess to be Christian yet refuse to repent of their sins. They will quickly point the finger at an ignorant and unbelieving world, while they are the biggest hellions that there are. From the religious leaders of Jesus day to the massive false form of Christianity in this present world, some people never change, and because of this very reason God will punish them both now and in eternity.

Psalms 55:19 (KJB)  God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

Blessed Paul had to deal with so much junk in his life, but he would not cease to tell people the truth in Christ Jesus, no matter how much aggravation or contention it caused them. In fact, genuine repentance can not possibly happen within the hearts without being pricked by the incredibly sharp sword of biblical truth. God’s Word must correct us, and even draw some blood occasionally in order for people to understand the error of their way. It hurts, but it is for the betterment and conversion of one’s soul. When people in the church were not walking according to the will of God, the Apostle Paul would rebuke them rather than praise them.

1 Corinthians 11:22 (KJB)  What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

1 Corinthians 11:17-22 (KJB) Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

Money cannot never be a factor if you are truly going to serve the will of God.

Luke 16:13 (KJB)  No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

1 Thessalonians 2:5 (KJB) For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

Galatians 1:10 (KJV)  For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

As a soldier of Christ, true men of God must get used to heavy resistance from those who are refusing to accept scriptural truth, but no matter what happens, their negative response is not our problem. What matters is speaking the truth with our neighbor, no matter what the consequences may come of it. False prophets will do whatever they have to in order to hold everything together, even when it requires changing their tune. So I guess in a lot of respects, we can learn a lot from that old saying,…..
