The Heresy of Ecumenism

Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture from the book of 2 Corinthians.

First of all, Ecumeniam is defined as the attempt to bring people who profess to be Christian together in unity and cooperation. They will join together with people of many different denominations simply because they “claim” to believe in Jesus. But the unity that is defined in Holy scripture is not one that is based simply by professing to believe in Jesus, but rather by believing in Jesus enough to obey the teachings of holy scripture. If they are not willing to submit themselves to the will of God, and are contentious with biblical truth, then we are commanded by scripture to keep separate from them, not join up with them. 

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (KJB)  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Heresy is defined as having a religious opinion that is contrary or opposed to the teachings of the New Testament. When people deny scriptural truth, and refuse to repent and come into compliance with the will of God, then they need to be warned.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 (KJB) Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly,…..

When they persist, and continue to be contentious with the genuine teachings of the one true faith, they must be rejected. 

Titus 3:10-11 (KJB) A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Many times they will promote ecumenical dialog for the purpose of trying to convert others to their false and unbiblical beliefs. But people don’t have to have a special committee or forum to discuss what has already been written down in the King James Bible. When they resist scripture in this manner, they are resisting the Holy Spirit, and the only people that do that are ones who are completely deceived by the devil. They are blind leaders of the blind, and no matter how massive their false movement is, all of them will end up in the ditch together. 

2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJB)  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

The doctrines of our faith are contained in the King James Bible, and just like having blueprints available to build an airplane, God has already given us the blueprints of how to become a Christian. Just like any building contractor, in order to complete the project you have to follow the blueprints in hand. Obedience to biblical doctrine is extremely important because your own salvation depends upon it. 

1 Timothy 4:16 (KJB) Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Ecumenism is a heresy because it is in direct violation to the doctrine of biblical separation. Somebody might make a mistake and sin, but then humbly accept their fault and do what is necessary to turn away from that activity. But that is quite different then a person who is completely contentious with the teachings of scripture, and has no desire to submit to the will of God at all. If that’s truly their attitude then you are not supposed to be fellowshipping with them at all. The church is supposed to be united in biblical doctrine, but not with those who absolutely refuse to come into compliance with the Word of God. Ask yourselves, who is arrogant enough to fight against the Word of God? The devil of course!

Romans 16:17-18 (KJB)  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

We are commanded to avoid people who claim to be Christian, who simply will not conform to the doctrines of the one true faith. In some places, this has become commonly known as shunning, which is a practice of church discipline towards the impenitent. This basically means that if you are not going to live your lives according to the teachings of the King James Bible, then you don’t belong among us. But remember that this is a matter of church discipline and is not meant for complete unbelievers. As a Christian, if someone invites you to have dinner and they have never been baptized into the faith, you may visit and enjoy a meal with them.

But remember that ecumenism is about trying to unite people who claim to believe in Jesus, but many of them openly reject the main doctrines of our faith. In doing this they are joining up with complete infidels. What I find truly amazing is that Roman Catholics would cast people out of their churches, condemn them to death, mercilessly burn them at the stake, and punish them with all kinds of inhuman torture, (which by the way, were never commanded by the Lord Jesus) but now through ecumenism, they have joined up with the very same people that they once condemned. This shows what a bunch of hypocritical frauds that they truly are, a group of false prophets, false Apostles and murderers. They are the epitome of the false Church found in the Book of Revelation, who has now joined her hands with all the rest of the false churches in the world. And why not, they all share the same characteristics, they are complete frauds. Ecumenism is paving the way for the one world false religion, and the rise of the son of perdition, the end time Antichrist. The world council of false churches is doing the same thing, and there is no way anyone who fears God could ever be a part of that wicked group. It doesn’t matter how many of them join hands with each other in ecumenism, they are all going to be punished by God.

Proverbs 16:5 (KJB)  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Remember that many large businesses will try to gather a lot of smaller ones together, in order to make it into one giant entity, which is exactly what is going on with ecumenism. It will grow bigger and bigger just like a cancerous tumor, a manifestation of the false Church, the mother of harlots found in the Book of Revelation. So as these false churches grow in numbers, remember that all it is is eye-candy for the fools. The plethora of false prophets will try to deceive you and make you think it’s some huge move of the spirit, but it is unspiritual, ungodly and unholy.
