No Trespassing

Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.

This is the time of the year when the grouse hunters are walking through the woods, and the deer hunters are starting to prepare their stands. But one thing that many hunters are going to have to do is make sure that they are not trespassing on somebody else’s lands. Many landowners get really upset when you are walking around on their property, but with the increased use of cell phones and certain apps, you can quickly locate where the property lines actually are.

This reminds me the Christian Life.

Trespassing is crossing over the boundaries of someone’s private property. Likewise, God wants us to be faithful unto Him and not violate the Divine boundaries that are set forth in the teachings of Holy Scripture.

2 Timothy 2:19 (KJB)  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Sometimes a neighbor doesn’t really want you on their property, and you will be told that you have to depart from the area. But that’s exactly what God wants us to do when we cross over the line and get involved with sinful living.

Psalms 34:14-16 (KJB)  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Proverbs 3:7 (KJB)  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

One of the reasons why people get involved with sin is because they really have no fear of God. They feel that God loves them so much that they can do whatever they want, which is a pitfall for those who have become overpampered and spoiled rotten. Most of these people don’t even believe in an eternal lake of fire, simply because there is no fear of God before their eyes.

1 Corinthians 15:34 (KJB)  Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Proverbs 8:13 (KJB)  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Romans 3:13-18 (KJB)  Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:.Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways:.And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Once again, when you trespass, it is to sin against God or others. God doesn’t want us constantly repenting from dead works. He wants us to learn to go and sin no more.

John 8:1-11 (KJB)  Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?.This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

In this passage, notice that Jesus didn’t condemn this woman, meaning that they didn’t condemn her to death by stoning her. It’s like people who agree with the death penalty, but in the eyes of Christ, they are just as guilty as the next person. Although Jesus didn’t condemn her physically, He certainly condemned sin in the flesh throughout the Gospels. He scourged people in the temple and threw over their tables. He called out and condemned the complete religious hypocrisy of the religious leaders of that day. When people are living lives of sin, it has to be condemned, otherwise people will not develop the proper fear of God and turn from their sins. Even the Apostles didn’t want to show up at a church somewhere and have them fall under their condemnation because of their disobedient behavior. Obviously through the gospel, there is great hope for people, but they must repent, which is why the message of repentance has been preached for thousands of years!

Luke 13:1-5 (KJB)  There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

People might ask, do you fear God? Well you had better, because He has the power to throw people into the lake of fire. As a believer in Jesus, we must go on to Spiritual maturity which is going to require repentance from sin. We must steadily keep ourselves from being deceived, and learn to deny Earthly lusts and desires.

Titus 2:11-14 (KJB)  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Sometimes people refer to certain criminals as being hardened, but there are many people who are living outside the walls of prisons who have become just as hardened because of their own sins. This happens when they are deceived by their own pride and impenitence, and they must repent in order to be saved.

Hebrews 3:13 (KJB)  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Remember that there are boundaries that surround a landowner’s property, and there are also boundaries with God. Just make sure that you always stay on God’s side, because in order to truly abide in the perfect will of God requires…..
