Thought of the Day 1/7/26

Romans 3:19-20 (KJB) Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Many people feel that they are going to be in heaven simply because they are a nice person. Many Jews even believe that they will be in heaven because they feel like they have kept the Old Testament law. But whether somebody is circumcised or not, the truth is that all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God, both Jew and Gentile alike. Nobody kept the law perfectly, and eventually sinned at one time or the other, which is the reason why the Old Testament sacrifices were set up in the first place. But that arrangement was only for a season, because it’s not possible that the blood of animals can cleanse the conscience of sin. So when the time was right, God sent His precious Son Jesus to die on the cross as a propitiation for our sins. Those who truly want to get to heaven must receive God’s forgiveness which is only available through faith in His Name. Make no mistake about it, the calling of God is to become obedient, loyal and faithful servants to the teachings of the Christian faith, but before those things can happen, we must first confess our faults, and have all of our sins washed away through Holy Baptism, the Blood of Christ, and sincere faith in the only Begotten Son of God.
