James 5:19-20 (KJB) Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
When people are outside of the teachings of scripture, a man of God desires to bring them back to the Truth once again, and like a Shepherd with his crook, he is trying to guide the sheep back onto the narrow path of salvation. At times, people can be led back with the gentlest of admonitions, but at other times it’s going to require severe rebukes in order to correct them from the error of their way. It’s really no different than a dad who must deal with his own children. Some of them are very easy to turn around, but others can be very unruly and must be warned and reprimanded. Consider the Lord Jesus who would correct some people very gently, but at other times He had to make a scourge and throw people right out of the Temple! Converting people is to get them to change their false beliefs, by accepting the Truth of Holy Scripture, and you say whatever must be said in order to turn them back to the light. Not everybody is going to repent, but if you can get them to change direction then you have succeeded in turning them away from their sins, and just like a fireman rescuing people from a burning building, you will have saved them from a lake of everlasting fire.

1 Peter 1:23 (KJB) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The Christian life is about becoming reborn as a new child of God, but it’s going to require being re-educated in biblical truth. For many years we grew up in this world, learning the philosophies and teachings of men, but to live the Christian Life is going to require learning the teachings of our faith. In order to be reborn as a new creature in Christ Jesus, we will have to obtain Spiritual knowledge from the teachings of Holy Scripture, and become transformed into a servant of Christ through humble obedience to the will of God.
