Morning
1 John 2:4-5 (KJB) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
The first and great commandment is to love God with our whole heart, soul and mind, but in order to do this we have to keep His Word by walking according to the teachings of the Christian faith. Obedience is incredibly important because it proves that we really love God from our heart. The Christian life is very much like an Earthly marriage because in order for a wife to truly love and please her husband, she must humbly submit to his will and obey him in everything. The bride of Christ must do the same by rendering to Him a heart of perfect obedience, by submitting ourselves to His every purpose and desire for our lives.

Evening
Psalms 130:2-4 (KJB) Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Scriptures are clear that all of us have sinned at one time or the other, and if it wasn’t for what Jesus did on the cross, no one would have the chance to be in heaven someday. Those who believe in Him and are baptized by submersion can receive forgiveness for all of their previous sins, but baptism is only the first step in the Christian Life, because with forgiveness comes great responsibility. This is because the Lord has high expectations for each of us, as it is a very high calling! God grants us a portion of His Grace, but He also expects us to become completely transformed into one of His obedient children. When we were young children, we were under the guidance of Earthly parents, but as a Christian we come under the tutelage of God, whose purpose and direction for us is revealed throughout the teachings of the New Testament. Beware that you receive not the grace of God in vain, because if it never really leads to a contrite and obedient heart, then it was bestowed upon an unworthy soul. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, so make sure that you take great care not to neglect the incredible treasure that He offers you, and thank God for His unspeakable gift!
