The Ambassadors of Christ
Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture from The Book of John.
John 13:20 (KJB) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
For thousands of years, the Lord Jesus has sent many men out into the world to further the things concerning the kingdom of God. For example, you have the Old Testament prophets, John the baptist, Peter and the other Apostles of Christ including the Apostle Paul, and many other men who have preached the truth of the one true faith. Those who gladly received them into their towns and homes received Christ Jesus the Lord, because ultimately they are His servants. When you receive someone, it means to actively accept, take in and to welcome. But a lot of the time the servants of Christ were not received, and people would raise up persecution against them.
Luke 11:49 (KJB) Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
John 16:1-3 (KJB) These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service..And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
There were numerous occasions that the Apostle Paul ran into persecutions and was treated shamefully for preaching the gospel of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 2:1-2 (KJB) For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:.But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
Jesus even told a parable about the consequences for rejecting His chosen servants.
Luke 20:9-16 (KJB) Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our’s. So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
There was a time when Jesus got extremely upset in the temple, and He even began throwing over tables. Certain things provoke the Lord to wrath, and one of them is the refusal to hearken to the servants whom He has sent.
2 Chronicles 36:15-16 (KJB) And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
Not everyone is going to receive a man of God with open arms, and will cast out their name as evil. After all, the servant is not greater than our Lord, and when they reject you, they reject Christ Jesus.
Luke 10:10-16 (KJB) But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you..And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
The way that you treat a man of God reveals the way that you would treat our precious Lord Jesus Christ. This is because they are His Divine Representatives here upon the Earth.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJB) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
An ambassador is defined as a high ranking representative of a country or entity. They are someone who is officially tasked with promoting the policies and interests of another. Although there have been many women representatives and ambassadors out in the world, that is not the way that it is done within the church. A woman cannot be an ambassador of Christ, nor can she come in His stead because she is a daughter, not a son. She has no authority concerning the teachings of the Christian faith because that role has been granted exclusively to men. It is men who were given the authority to preach and teach by Christ Jesus Himself, and men were created in His image. Women are forbidden from these duties because Jesus forbids it. In the church, women are supposed to maintain their role as a helpmeet by ministering to the Servants of Christ which can be done out of your possessions, or providing other things that are needful such as clothes, a warm place to stay, or even a hot meal. After all, this is the same way that they treated Christ Jesus Himself. A woman is not an ambassador of Christ because a woman cannot usurp the role of man in the church. Most people have bought into this heresy because of the unbiblical functions of women in society, but those who reject what I’m saying are false prophets and completely renounce the Holy Spirit filled teachings of scripture.
Remember that true men of God are ill-treated and hated in this world. After all, this is how they treated the creator of Heaven and Earth! But when people revile God’s messengers, they revile the Lord Jesus, because ultimately they are His servants, and…..
