Morning
Hebrews 4:12 (KJB) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
An Earthly weapon can only pierce the body, but the Word of God can pierce the soul. It reaches deep down inside of the heart and can wound those who have no fear of the writings within its margins. Many books have been written on the Earth and ultimately they will all perish, but the Word of God liveth and abideth forever, an Everlasting Sword of Truth that needs never to be sharpened.

Evening
Colossians 3:1-3 (KJB) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When people pass away, many times they are buried underneath the ground, but when we are baptized into the Christian Life we are buried beneath the water, and the old sinful person that we once were is put to death. Just as Jesus rose from the tomb, when we rise up out of the water, we begin a brand new life of service unto God. From that day forth we must prepare ourselves for the kingdom that is coming in the future, and rather than placing our affections on the things of this world, we must focus completely on the eternal and Spiritual things of God. Baptism is a choice that one must make, and a requirement in order to get to heaven, because it is a death to oneself in order to live a life of humble obedience towards God.
