Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
Recently on a cold winter night I eventually laid down in bed to go to sleep, but after I finally shut off my headlamp, I began to hear some noises from inside of the wall. Instantly, I assumed that it was a mouse because he was constantly scratching and moving around. This greatly disturbed my sleeping schedule and his harassing behavior continued throughout the follow week. Rather than setting up a bunch of traps, I was hoping that my cat might catch him instead, but each night that passed by only continued to be a persistent irritation for days on end. This went on for quite a few weeks, until one morning when I got out of bed I realized that I hadn’t heard the noise for a few days. Everything in the house had become suddenly quiet once again, and his harassing little behaviors had finally ceased to exist.
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
That little mouse sure made a lot of racket for a period of time, but it ultimately came to an abrupt end. It was only a matter of time until finally he and all of his irritating activities in the dark, would be permanently put to silence.
Psalms 31:18 (KJB) Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
How many of you have had grievous lies spoken about you? Perhaps when you were in school there was a group of kids who really didn’t like you very much, so they made up a bunch of lies about you and then passed them around to the other students. Because of their wicked deeds, they caused some of the other children to believe a complete lie about the real person that you actually were.
How many of you have gone through a divorce, and your spouse was so bitter that they begin to wickedly spread lies about you? Because of their evil activities they caused others to believe a complete lie about the tenderhearted and loving person that you actually are. People who do such things are the scum of the Earth and the filth of all mankind. This is because they know the truth, but speak lies instead. Liars are of the devil, because he is their father and they are his children.
John 8:44 (KJB) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Think of all of the lies that people made up and spread about Jesus. Even the religious leaders were calling Him a deceiver. But those who choose to spread lies about others are going to face the wrath of God, both here upon the Earth and on judgment Day.
Proverbs 19:9 (KJB) A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Revelation 21:8 (KJB) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Ananias flat out lied to the beloved Apostle Peter and because of this, God killed him on the spot.
Acts 5:1-6 (KJB) But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
Liars are an abomination to God and He certainly will punish them for their wicked deeds.
Proverbs 19:5 (KJB) A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Psalms 101:7 (KJB) He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
Proverbs 12:22 (KJB) Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Lies are going to be exposed and the truth will be found out.
Matthew 10:26 (KJB) Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Luke 8:17 (KJB) For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
The devil is actively involved in many high places of false Christianity, and continues to try to lead people away from the will of God. They can appear extremely religious but the truth is that they are only wolves in sheep’s clothing.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (KJB) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
The devil is actively resisting Scriptural truth along with the men of God who preach it, making up complete lies about them just like they did to the Apostle Paul and the rest of the disciples.
2 Corinthians 6:8 (KJB) By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
But when people make up such atrocious lies about us, we can cry out mightily to God for justice.
Psalms 109:1-2 (KJB) Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
God is not mocked and He hates a lying tongue, so when people speak grievous things against you, understand what God is going to do to them. He will punish their wicked tongues and the lips of those who speak lies shall be stopped, just like all of the irritating noises, from…..
