Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
Many fishermen will reach inside of their tackle box and pull out some type of fishing lure in order to catch different types of fish, and some of them look so real that it’s hard to tell the difference between the lure and an actual fish. Nowadays some of them look so authentic that they appear like they are swimming in the water when you reel them up to the boat, but the facts are that they are only a decoy, created to trick fish into biting the hook. Sometimes famous people or political leaders will do the same kind of thing, and will hire someone to impersonate them. Their job is to act like a decoy in order to draw the attention away from the other party. Oftentimes they are used in high risk situations such as a political motorcade or other highly publicized event, and have been commonly known as a look-alike or a body double. These actors bear an incredibly strong resemblance to the person who they are mimicking, not only in their appearances but in their speech and mannerisms. Sometimes they appear so much like the real person that you won’t even be able to tell the difference, until they are standing right next to each other.
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
Out in the world today there is a huge form of false Christianity that is being presented to the world. It might look like Christianity, it might sound like Christianity, but it’s not the Christian faith that was established 2,000 years ago. Numerous false prophets and religious leaders are preaching a different Jesus rather than our precious Lord contained throughout the teachings of the King James Bible, and because of people’s lack of Biblical knowledge, many people are going to be deceived into accepting a look alike, rather than the True and living God.
2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJB) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
In numerous Earthly battles, certain armies would flood the airwaves beforehand with false messages in order to trick and mislead an opposing army, and the same things are being done today in regards to the true Christian faith. Numerous false prophets have risen up just as Jesus foretold, and they have gone out into the world to deceive others.
Matthew 24:11 (KJB) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:24 (KJB) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
When something is false it is deliberately made or meant to deceive others. It is not genuine or authentic, and is disloyal and treacherous. These false prophets are misrepresenting the true Jesus that is spoken of throughout the teachings of scripture. Things that He vigorously condemned are openly accepted and promoted by these wicked reprobates, who appear like angels of light but are the servants of darkness.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (KJB) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
This false form of Christianity is going to grow larger and larger right up until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and many people will be so far away from the teachings of scripture that they will be completely deceived with all of the rest. The Apostle Paul wanted the church to be filled with the wisdom of God so that they could easily discern between the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of error, but for the most part, a great majority of people are going to believe a lie instead.
2 Peter 2:1-2 (KJB) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
This is why the preaching of God’s Word is so vital for one’s salvation, because without knowledge, the people of God shall perish.
2 Timothy 4:1-4 (KJB) I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Just like the devil in the Garden of Eden, false prophets want to lead people away from obedience to the will of God. The Apostle Paul was a sentry of Christ who protected the people of God, but he warned them that after his departure, the wolves were going to breach the wall and not spare any of the flock.
Acts 20:28-31 (KJB) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
So be prepared when all of the false Christianity rises up like a huge beast out of the ocean, in an attempt to devour the entire world with all of its lies and heresies. They will claim to have the Holy Spirit and even mimic the things of God, but they are nothing more than seducers and deceivers. Jesus and the disciples warned of these days, and the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand so make sure that you are filled with the wisdom of God. That way you will never be deceived, and will always be able to tell the difference, between our true and precious Lord, and …….
