Thoughts of the Day 2/6/26

Morning

1 John 1:10 (KJB) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

There are many people in this world who really feel that they have never sinned in their entire life, but to actually believe that is not being honest with yourself. God’s Word teaches us that all have sinned at one time or another, so to actually claim human infallibility is to call God’s Word a lie. I’ve said for many years that the very first step of honesty in one’s life is to be capable of admitting your own faults, because if you can’t do that, then you will never be able to correct them in the future. It’s easy for the human nature to feel that they are above reproach, but the Apostle Paul referred to himself as a wretched man and the chief of sinners. It is only when we possess this same type of honest humility with ourselves that we will ever be able to find forgiveness with God, and be released from the infirmities of our own sinful condition.

Evening

Psalms 25:14 (KJB) The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Has anybody ever told you a secret about how to be successful at doing something? Maybe a mechanic showed you an unknown secret that saves you hours of time working on your vehicle out in your garage. But the secret of living a faithful life towards God is to fear Him, a quality that a lot of people simply do not possess. Jesus loved this world and laid down His own life on the cross so that we could have forgiveness for our sins, but it has ultimately been granted so that we transform from sinners into obedient children of God. But to truly fear God is to understand that those who refuse to repent and submit to God’s will are going to face His wrath, both here on the earth and at judgment Day. It doesn’t matter if somebody claims to be a Christian or not, because those who choose the path of impenitence will be cast into an everlasting lake of fire from which they will not escape. It will be a place of everlasting torment where they will seek death but will not find it. That will be the reward for all those who forsake loving obedience towards our incredibly kind and merciful God, and choose to walk on the path of resistance and rebellion instead.
