Thoughts of the Day 2/7/26

Morning

John 8:29 (KJB) And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

The Lord Jesus is the perfect example of obedience and submission to the will of the Heavenly Father, and when we become His followers, we must learn to serve the Father in the same manner that He does. To become pleasing unto God will require a faithful and obedient heart, one that is ready to serve His purposes rather than our own. Although Jesus has always pleased God, we have not, but through His grace we can eventually be transformed into a faithful child of God. This will require the power of faith and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as we begin to overcome the sinful nature and walk in the light. Jesus is our Divine guide of what God wants us to become, a beloved and obedient son, who is well-pleasing in His sight!

Evening

Jeremiah 17:9 (KJB) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Many people like to follow the dictates of their own heart and will pursue it wherever it may lead them. They will listen to their heart rather than listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit which is found throughout the teachings of Scripture. But the heart of man is extremely deceitful, and to trust in it is to place one’s faith in a liar. The human heart is so wicked that it will actually convince you that the choices that you make are blessed by God, but the entire time it will lead you right off a cliff. All around this world people will tell you to trust in your heart, but the truth is that we must trust Christ, because proper decision making can only be done when we seek Divine counsel, rather than our own. You will either do things your way, or you will do them God’s way, but just remember that only one of those choices will lead to blessings from God, and the prize of Eternal Life.
