Hebrews 12:3 (KJB) For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Contradiction is to oppose or to be in direct conflict with something, and whenever you take a stand for the teachings of scripture, you are going to find yourself up against much opposition from this world. Many times when the Apostles and disciples of the Lord were preaching the Truth, entire towns would be in a complete uproar with them. Certain communities would raise up persecution against the Apostle Paul and at times would even have him thrown into jail. At one time, you might have had a really good relationship with others, but once you become a Christian that can change in a big hurry. This is because the world wants to believe a lie, and when you begin to shake the foundations of the flawed principles that they believe in, they will become contentious with you, and then cast out your name as evil. But whenever this happens, we must never get discouraged, because the creator of Heaven and Earth went through the same things. In order to walk in the footsteps of Christ, each one of us will have to deal with a certain amount of suffering, but those who patiently endure all the way to the end shall be saved.

Evening
James 1:12 (KJB) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Whenever somebody is tempted, their faith is being put to the test, but each time that we resist temptations, the stronger in our faith we will become. We must learn to patiently endure temptation, which means we must learn to get past them without getting involved with sin. Everyone who names the name of Christ must depart from iniquity and overcome the sinful desires of the carnal nature. When we do this, we prove to God that our love for Him is greater than anything else in this world. The path to perfection is to be capable of resisting all of the works of the flesh, which will bring forth the blessings and Divine favor of God, and eventually the Crown of Eternal Life.
