Morning
1 John 2:15-17 (KJB) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
In order to fulfill the will of God, our love for Him must be greater than anything else in this world, after all, that is why it is the first and great commandment. Whatever is your greatest love is what you will chase after in this life, whether it’s money, possessions, or other earthly desires. The Lord called out to many men to preach the gospel, but a lot of the time their hearts were more focused on other things instead. Love is a very powerful emotion so be very careful about what you place it on, because it is only through a perfect love for God that we can ever walk according to His will, and eventually obtain the promise of eternal life.

Evening
1 John 4:5-6 (KJB) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
One time I was at a public event at a shopping mall, and I had an opportunity to talk to a group of people who had already been seated at the food concourse. When someone gave me the mic, I began giving my testimony about when somebody gave me a King James Bible on a street corner. As I began to talk about Jesus and the effect that He had on my entire life, over 3/4 of the crowd got up out of their chairs and left the area. Sometimes it’s very hard for me to understand why people refuse the path of forgiveness with God. I marvel at people’s complete lack of faith towards the one who shed His own blood for their salvation. When I first read the book of John, and studied the life of the Apostle Paul, I understood that there was great hope for a sinner like me. God cares for us, but we must have faith in Him and turn away from our sins. There is a brand new life available through the teachings of scripture, and all you need to do is reach out and grab it. So the next time that you hear the testimony of Christ Jesus, will you stay in your seats,….. or will you walk away with the rest of them, just as they did out at the shopping mall?
