Thoughts of the Day 2/19/26

Morning

Hebrews 10:36 (KJB) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

When you have patience, you will endure something all the way to the end, just like an endurance runner who finally crosses the finish line at a marathon. Obviously, in order for them to receive a trophy at the end of the race, they will first have to complete the race! God gives us the promise of eternal life, but we must live our lives accordingly if we are ever going to receive it. For example, your dad might promise you that he will buy you a brand new bicycle for summer vacation, but in order to receive that promise you must keep up your grades and have a good year at school. Many people will not be able to enter into eternal life because they never did the things that were required of them throughout the teachings of scripture. Even in the parable of the sower, Jesus explained that some people would only endure for a period of time. Salvation is not a one-time event, it is a daily walk with God, as we continue to abide in the things that we have learned, until we finally reap the prize of eternal life.

Evening

John 5:28-29 (KJB) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

There are many places of Earthly justice throughout this world that have been created by the Lord Jesus Christ and for His purposes. But one thing that has always amazed me is that many people believe in justice, but completely reject the notion that there will be a day of Divine Justice in the presence of God on Judgment Day. Everyone who has ever lived, including every high place of justice in this world will have to give an account for their deeds, whether good or evil. Many people are summoned to appear in an Earthly courtroom, and although they might try to avoid going, no one will be able to avoid the summons to the Judgment throne of God. People must come to Christ Jesus and get forgiven for their past, and do what is right with their lives before it is too late. But those who mock God and refuse to take hold of this merciful opportunity will face the sting of His wrath, along with punishments that will be far greater than any Earthly courtroom can ever administer.
