Revelation 3:19 (KJB) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
The teachings of Holy Scripture are given to us for our correction and the betterment of our lives, but in order for them to have any type of effect in us, we need to do what they say. Genuine repentance goes far beyond words, because it will cause you to feel so much regret for the sinful things that you have done, that it will cause you to change the way that you are living and dedicate yourself to the amendment of your life. God rebukes us because He loves us, and wants us to overcome sin. What we must do is humbly accept the error of our way and with a contrite and penitent heart, take steps in a brand new direction.

Evening
Matthew 6:5-6 (KJB) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Prayer was always meant to be a private and discreet matter between oneself and God. I’ve always thought of it like having a private conversation with a wife that is kept between the two of you, and hidden from the view of others. But for thousands of years, people have tried to appear religious in the eyes of the public, praying publicly on TVs, on the internet, and even at large public events. When you see these types of activities, it is not because they are filled with the Holy Spirit, it is because they are filled with the spirit of sanctimonious vanity. It is done in order to display their own insincere and pious activities to others so they will appear as someone who is Godly. That is really pathetic! That type of hypocrisy is not rewarded at all by God. Can you imagine having a private conversation with somebody at a large restaurant, and the person that you are speaking with is purposely talking so loudly that the entire place can hear your private conversation? Most people would consider that extremely rude, but people who claim to have some type of close relationship with God do this all the time. Remember that secret prayer is rewarded by God, and just like any private conversation, it only requires the audience of one.
