Thoughts of the Day 2/24/26

Morning

2 Peter 3:17-18 (KJB) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Someone who is steadfast will be firm in their allegiance to a person belief or cause, and will be loyal and unwavering in their duties. The duties of a Christian are to continue each day focusing on the high calling of God, and the things pertaining to our Eternal salvation. Not everybody who begins the Christian life is going to make it to heaven, as Jesus explained in the parable of the sower. For some of them, the things of this world will take precedence over the things of God. Just like an infant grows from a child into an adult, we must continue to grow every single day in our faith, cleansing our hearts and our minds from sin, and perfecting ourselves in the fear of God.

Evening

1 John 1:6-7 (KJB) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Fellowship is defined as to have a very close companionship with others based upon your common interests and purpose. You might know a lot of different people around your area, such as the grocer, the farmer, and even the people who deliver your mail. We have a basic knowledge of who our neighbors are because we either grew up in the area or have lived among them for a period of time. But there is a huge difference between knowing somebody by their name and fellowshipping with them. When we become a Christian and are walking in the truth, we become a part of the family of God, and obviously when we were children growing up, many of us had a closer relationship to our family members then we did with others out in the world. You spend the evenings together. You read books to each other. You played a game together. You played music together. You break bread together, and so on. A lot of the time these relationships are incredibly close, but they are the same type of relationships that we need to have within the church. But the rejection of Scriptural Truth and the refusal to repent from dead works is going to cause a huge rift in these relationships. This is because as a Christian, the unity that we share together is based upon one common purpose, which is to have faith in Christ Jesus and do the will of God, which is found throughout the teachings of the King James Bible. When people choose to live according to the flesh, and actually believe that they will be in heaven, they are believing a lie. People must repent and be converted to biblical truth, rather than believing the lie of their own religious misconceptions. So repent, because God will bless you for it, and in the end you will receive the prize of eternal life!
