Morning
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (KJB) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Rather than choosing religiously trained people as His Apostles, Jesus picked a group of fishermen and even a publican to preach. Even the Apostle Paul had done a lot of sinful things in his past, because he had persecuted the Church of Christ. But you have to remember that Jesus wasn’t calling the righteous, but sinners unto repentance, and everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God. God will choose people who the world considers a sinful wretch for the purpose of displaying to others that repentance is required in everyone, no matter what level of society they may be at. No one will be able to glory in the presence of God, and our own salvation comes down to faith in Christ Jesus, and repentance from dead works.

Evening
1 Corinthians 7:39 (KJB) The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
There is a huge difference between a wife who is widowed and a divorcee. In the Christian faith, a widow is someone who remained faithfully by her husband’s side all the way until his death. If she divorced him for any reason, she is not a widow, no not by any means! After all, she is not even his wife anymore, because she already chose to break the law of the covenant of marriage by divorcing him. At that point, all she will become known as is an unfaithful and wicked divorcee.
When a woman is baptized into the Christian Life, she is bound to her husband all the days of his life, but if she divorces him for any reason, it doesn’t matter if he dies after that or not, because she has already put to death the marriage when she signed the papers. That is why if a woman leaves her husband, she needs to remain unmarried for the purposes of repentance and returning and being reconciled to her husband. If she is too bitter to do that, and eventually divorces him, then she has already chosen to go past the point of reconciliation. Even if he were to die, it doesn’t change the fact that she will never be a Christian widow, she is a divorcee, a stigma that she will carry as a woman who rejected the will of God. Those who get involved with her sexually are adulterers, just as the Bible warns. And everyone who encouraged her to do this activity is just as wicked as she is.
Are you having a tough time during your marriage? I beg you, don’t ever leave your spouse for whatever the reason, because those who choose to do that not only violate what God has brought together, but will come under the judgments of Christ Jesus for their complete disobedience to the gospel of charity and mercy. Find something to do with each other that you enjoy. Take the good with the bad in the marriages that you share, and be patient with each other’s faults, because in doing so, you serve the will of God.
