Thoughts of the Day 3/17/26

Morning

2 Timothy 3:12-13 (KJB) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Before the return of our precious Lord Jesus, this world is going to be filled with great wickedness. In fact, the Lord taught that it will be very similar to the days of Noah, and most of you can remember what that was like. The worse that it gets, the more persecution will arise against those who are serving the Lord Jesus. But He will not forget His chosen, for He shall return in the skies above and send out His angels to retrieve them, and on that day we shall ever be with the Lord!

Evening

2 Timothy 4:10 (KJB) For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

Everywhere Jesus went He was calling out to men to preach the kingdom of God. He not only picked His twelve Apostles, but chose seventy others to spread the Word of God. But although so many were chosen, many of them forsook Him, and the seed of truth that was planted inside of their hearts never grew into fruition. This is because other things entered into their lives that became more important than their obligations to our Lord Jesus Christ, such as earthly relationships, seeking after riches, or even looking for a wife. If you walked off on your duties in the military without authorization, you would be court-martialed, but many people will do the exact same thing to our precious Lord Jesus. They will begin to preach the Word, steadily and faithfully, but then their hearts will be led astray and will completely forsake their responsibilities to Christ Jesus. As the Lord taught, these kinds of people are unworthy of the Kingdom of Heaven, because those who forsake the high calling of God are not only willfully negligent, but utterly worthless, and abandon their own salvation.
