Morning
1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJB) Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Have you ever been driving along and had something fail on your vehicle? Maybe you were heading to the grocery store and all of a sudden one of your tires blew out, and you found yourself sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire. Maybe you punctured a brake line and you quickly started losing fluid and your brakes began to fail. When something fails it is to be unsuccessful in achieving a goal or expectations, or to stop functioning properly. Although many things in this life will fail, charity will never give out on you, because it is Divine, everlasting, and will never cease to exist.

Evening
Matthew 10:34-38 (KJB) Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
There will be numerous people who will choose not to become a Christian simply because they don’t want to accept the fact that many of their relatives and even their own parents will not be in heaven. This is because they were never baptized, they never had Holy Communion, and they never were truly transformed through repentance and dedication to the will of God. It’s natural to care about these Earthly relationships, but the Lord Jesus provides us with something that no one on this Earth can ever give you, and that is eternal life. Although I’ve cared for others greatly, I have been despised and hated by my relatives, in-laws and others because of the tenacity of my own faith in the teachings of scripture. But you know, I’d rather be hated by everyone in this world and live in a cave, just as long as I know that I’m walking according to God’s will.
When I was extremely young, somebody told me that everybody is going to die someday, and I went into my room and cried for the rest of the afternoon on my bed. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Personally, I want to live forever, and I finally realized many years later that it is possible through faith in Jesus Christ and obedience to His teachings. So you see, in my own personal life, no one else in this world has the one thing that I want more than anything else, and that is a shot at eternity! So despite all of the hatred and the persecution that comes from committing yourself to Christ Jesus, we must strive hard to enter in at the straight gate. Just like I did, each of you will have to choose above and beyond anybody else, who is going to be YOUR greatest love of all, and mark my words, there can be no greater love in your life than for the one who can grant you entrance into life eternal.
