Thoughts of the Day 3/21/26

Morning

Matthew 18:15-18 (KJB) Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

In the Christian faith, when you sin against a brother in the church, you must confess your faults unto them so that you can obtain their mercy. The refusal to do this promptly can result in the hardening of the heart, and pride will begin to set in. When you remember that a brother is upset with you for something that you have done towards them, Jesus commands that you must repent and be reconciled with them before you even bring a gift to the church. Those who reject the doctrine of reconciliation with a wronged brother must be treated like a heathen. This is because God does not forgive the impenitent, and neither can a brother forgive those who refuse to repent. At that point they are bound unto damnation, and will only find themselves shut out of Heaven at the judgment. This is because they completely rejected the biblical doctrines of repentance and reconciliation with others, which are some of the most significant teachings of the Christian Life.

Evening

Mark 10:12 (KJB) And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

When a woman who has been baptized or even had Holy Communion decides to depart and divorce her own husband for whatever the reason, she completely rejects the will of God for her life. Any God fearing man is never going to marry a woman who has done this to her own husband, and the only person that she might have in the future is a complete unbeliever or an absolute reprobate to the Christian faith. So because of her own disobedience to the teachings of Christ, she will have to settle to live in fornication or adultery with some strange man, who has no fear of God whatsoever. So women who claim to be followers of Christ, don’t ever leave your husband, but stand by their side through thick and thin, because the consequences for divorce are so severe that I really don’t understand why anybody would want to get involved with it.
