Thoughts of the Day 3/26/26

Morning

Romans 13:9-10 (KJB)  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

All of the commandments have been put forth by God for the purpose of us learning how to love others from the heart, and if you truly love others you are not going to do evil things towards them. But although you love others and treat them the way that you want to be treated, that doesn’t always mean that you will be loved in return. What it does mean is that you are doing the will of God from your heart, and He will bless you because of it.

Evening

Romans 13:12-14 (KJB)  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

There is an incredible gift of forgiveness found in Christ Jesus, but God provides it to us for a specific purpose. Through faith in Him, He expects each of us to become a brand new creature by renouncing sin and walking in the light. God wants us to do good things and to walk in Holiness, and His precious gift demands that reasonable service. So the next time you go fishing and cast an anchor into the lake, just remember that you will have to do the same, by casting away all of the sinfulness from out of your lives.
