Morning
2 Peter 3:17-18 (KJB) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
When we are steadfast in our faith, we will be unwavering, dependable, and unchangeable in our devotion to God. We will continue to abide in a loyal relationship with Him, even when we have to endure tribulation or sufferings. But as we draw closer to the return of Christ Jesus, seducers and deceivers will wax worse and worse and will make the attempt to lead you away from your faithful obedience to the Lord. Just continue to remain firm in your faith with unyielding convictions, and you shall receive the reward of eternal life.

Hebrews 10:36 (KJB) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
In the New Testament, we are given the promise of eternal life, but there are certain things that you are going to need to do in order to obtain it. There are many things in life that we must do first, in order to obtain something else later. For example, your neighbor might tell you that they will give you a certain amount of money if you come this afternoon and cut their lawn. Obviously if you never show up and do what they asked, you are not going to receive the item that they promised. To obtain eternal life will require going through a complete transformation, which happens through faith in Christ and humble submission to the will of God. Those who are not going to approach the Christian Life in that manner, are only deceiving themselves, and like a child who never cut the lawn, will only come up short of the reward of everlasting life.
