Thoughts of the Day 3/29/26

Morning

2 Corinthians 5:15 (KJB) And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Many people will celebrate Easter this year but not even consider the reason why Jesus suffered and died on the cross. Because of what He did, each of us can receive a gift of His mercy and Grace, but the reason why forgiveness is given to us, is so that we can turn from our sins and become a new creature in Christ Jesus. Many people will attend an Easter service but are living openly in fornication, covetousness, greed and other sins of the flesh, but hypocrisy doesn’t get you to heaven, repentance does. To celebrate Easter without repentance is to rejoice in mercy without change, which is the route of the rebellious, and the path of the pretentious.

Evening

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (KJB) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

The Apostle Paul wanted people to be reconciled to God, but in order for that to happen, it’s going to require accepting the truth that you are a sinner. In the story of The Prodigal Son, the wayward Son finally came to grips with his own stupidity about what he had done to his dad, and it was only then that he returned home and reconciled with him. Reconciliation is to return to the relationship that you had with someone before sin was ever committed. Through His incredible kindness, Jesus offers us the gift of forgiveness so that we can be reconciled unto Himself, forgiven for our past, and obediently devoted to Him in the future.
