Colossians 1:21-23 (KJB) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
The Lord Jesus died on the cross so that we could have forgiveness for our sins, but when we receive God’s grace, you must not receive it in vain. Jesus shed His blood to cleanse us from sin, but those who claim to be His followers are supposed to mortify the flesh and depart from iniquity. Why would you spend time washing a nice white shirt only to take it outside and purposely throw it back into the mud? The Lord can present us unblamable in His sight, but that will require continuing in the faith, which is to persistently endure in the will of God, with a faithful and obedient heart.

Evening
Hebrews 6:11-12 (KJB) And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Jesus taught that in order to inherit eternal life, we must strive to enter in, and when you strive, it means to exert great efforts and hard work to achieve a specific goal. We are given the promise of eternal life, but in order to eventually obtain it will require devoting serious energy to the doctrines and the requirements of our faith. Jesus met us halfway by providing us with an incredible gift of His grace, but now we must meet Him the rest of the way by bringing forth fruits that are meet for repentance. Those who are slothful have a lazy faith, and a habitual disinclination to submit to the will of God and produce good works. Everyone shall be judged by their works, whether they be good or evil, and the more good ones that you can generate during this life, the more that they will weigh in your favor at the Divine judgment of God.
