Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
When I was in high school I had my very first opportunity to go downhill skiing at a large resort in Northern Minnesota. I have always liked being outside in the winter time because I used to do a lot of snowshoeing, but this certainly became one of my favorite winter sports and it only took a few months until I was cruising down most of the black diamond ski runs. But occasionally it doesn’t snow enough during the season to maintain a durable and dense base, and quite often the resort would have to make their own artificial snow. It has been claimed by some that artificial snow is created by forcing water and compressed air through a snow gun, and immediately freezes into small ice particles. Apparently artificial snow is around 30% ice and 70% air while natural snow is around 10% ice and 90% air, which makes true snowfall very fluffy and soft, providing you with a gentler landing when you fall down and hit the ground
This reminds me of the Christian Life.
Many people who profess to be Christian can be just like artificial snow, because just like creating man-made snow, they are simply an artificial and fake imitation, but not the real thing.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (KJB) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
When something is artificial it is insincere and counterfeit, and not the genuine article. The Apostle Paul warned about people who transformed themselves into the Apostles of Christ. rather than a true man of God who has been transformed through faith and belief of the Truth. Anyone can put on a fancy robe or a cleric’s outfit, and stand behind a pulpit with a Bible in their hand. Some people want to be called Reverend or Pastor just because they lust after attention, and want to be noticed as somebody who is religious. These activities are not driven by a sincere transformation through faith in Christ, but just like many religious leaders of old, by their own personal ego and self-importance. The Apostle Paul was so humble that he didn’t even think it was right for people to call him an Apostle!
1 Corinthians 15:9 (KJB) For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
When something is artificial it is manufactured. It reminds me of a person who smiles and laughs loudly, but on the inside, they really don’t possess these actual feelings at all. They are a complete fraud and a fake, and God knoweth their hearts. Sometimes they remind me of a salesman who will cheerfully greet you when you walk into their store, but they really don’t care about you at all, they only want to sell you a piece of fine jewelry. Hypocrites, making themselves appear a certain way to the public, but are complete frauds on the inside. The devil and his angels are masters of deceit, and through pretense and guile will exalt their own religious hypocrisy to the public. This has been going on for thousands of years, and Jesus warned His disciples about these types of people.
Matthew 6:5-6 (KJB) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Many people think that the devil shows up somewhere late at night on a dark street corner, but the place that you will find them most of all is dressed up in religious robes and standing behind a church pulpit. After all, if someone is going to try to steal your sheep, the best way to do it is by getting into the barn! So they will transform themselves into sheep, by trying to look just like them, but the truth is they are only wolves of deceit, hidden beneath their own religious facade.
Matthew 7:15 (KJB) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Just as Jesus forewarned, this world is currently filled up with false prophets, and you can discern them because of all of the religious eye-candy that they throw at the world in order to be devoured by the sensuous. Like a dog chasing after a bone, the great masses of people are going to follow after them, because they truly love all of the pomp and circumstance and religious garb. Listen closely,…..
Jesus fed the 5,000 on a grassy plain, while false Christianity will feed 50 people in a $5 million dollar building. The Apostles of Christ were dressed up in poor man’s clothing, but false prophets cannot wait to slip out of bed and put on their fancy religious gear and their colorful robes. When Jesus died, He didn’t even have a funeral or gravesite, but false prophets will spend millions on the pompous memorial service of their antichrist buddy, and on their elaborate and ornate tombs. The same religious activities that Jesus condemned among the Jews, has repeated itself all over again, only this time it is happening amongst those who claim to be Christian.
Matthew 23:27-28 (KJB) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Like an actor who loves a grand entrance, false prophets love to put on a show, and will even use laser lights and pyrotechnics to seduce and deceive the world. Their lives are not led by a love for Christ Jesus but rather, a love to be seen, no different than a musician who cannot wait to get out on stage to be adored by the crowd.
Matthew 23:5-6 (KJB) But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
So don’t be deceived with the rest of this world, by following men who transform themselves in a fitting room somewhere, rather than men who have been transformed through faith and the Holy Spirit. False Christianity will continue to grow worse and worse, led by men who were never called by God. But their professed spirituality ends with their attire, because all they really are is their own self-made heretical concoction, and just as unnatural as,…..
