Proverbs 24:29 (KJB) Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
Many times when children are young and someone does something wrong to them at school, they want to pay them back somehow and return the evil that they have done towards them. But we are not to seek to avenge ourselves because God sees the way that everyone treats each other, and it’s for certain that He is not going to let it go unpunished. Vengeance belongs to him, so let him deal with it in due time.

Hebrews 6:1 (KJB) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Can you imagine building a brand new home only having to rip it down a year later and do it all over again? Can you envision finishing that one, only to have to rip that one down six months later? It sounds ridiculous doesn’t it, but that is the essence of what the Apostle is teaching us today. We are not supposed to build on the foundation of repenting over and over from dead works, but learn to walk in the perfect will of God.
How many times do you have to touch a hot stove until you finally learn your lesson? How many times will you fall off your bicycle until you finally learn to stay on it? The Christian life is about becoming perfect in the sight of God, maturing enough in our walk with God that we no longer need repentance. Through Christ Jesus, God grants us the riches of His grace, but it is for the purpose of learning to build upon the sure foundation, and learning to go and sin no more.
